I did! Both my brother and sister did too. My parents have perfectly straight teeth and they didn't have braces. Ever wonder why older generations didn't have braces yet don't have bad teeth? What's that about?

I didnt thank god!!! I convinced my mom that I didnt need them. That plus the orthodontist that I went to wanted to open up my top jaw - crazy frankenstein sounding stuff- I put my foot down!

I ahd braces on teh bottom for about a year, and once they came off, my teeth moved back to their crooked self.

I don't think there is enough room in the bottom of my mouth.

I did! My mom got me removable braces in the 6th grade and when they didn't work I had to get the real ones for 2 years.

i had them for 5 years. from 5th grade to right before i started 10th. my sister had them also. but she had a night brace, thankfully i didn't. i hated them so much b/c going to the orthodontist was painful. i cried almost every time i was in there. i used to get the cheesy colored bands too. my favorite was bright turquoise in the summer. why on earth did i think that was cool????

and leelee i sympathize with you. i had 9 teeth pulled. at two seperate times. the first time they didn't let my mom come in with me so i went under the gas in a bad mood and when i woke up it was even worse. i was terrified and starting pulling things out of my mouth. there went all the cotton as well as one of the wires. they yelled at me and i was like well you should have let my mom in (i was about 12). next time i came back, mom came in no prob

funny thing is one of those teeth only grew in half way. so i'm actually missing the top half of one of my teeth. tell me again doc why we pulled that??

I had them and hated them. And my teeth are not as perfect now as when I first got them off.

I did.

I was the only one in my family to need them. I wore them for 5 years...and they were the FULL rap araound ones...not the little pegs on each tooth! I got abused!! I also did develope a bitting habit though!

I wore braces from 13-18 Had teeth pulled, and an impacted tooth (I needed an oral surgeon to go into my guns, attached a chain to the tooth and monthly have a link cut, and the chain slowly pulled down...or else the tooth would never come down on it's own)....but I have PERFECT teeth and it was sooooooo worth it!!!!

In answer to your question,,,there are some theories.

There is a exercise physiologist in CA, who's names Paul Check, he's biliant, and is big on not eatted processed foods, additives, pure water, polultion etc. I can not remember the name of the scientist (that paul bases a lot of his theories on), but he studied people from different areas and learned how their diet directly effected the shape of their faces, and over time and being exposed to modern nutrition & poor nutrition they developed poor health, teeth problems, etc, that were not seen until the 'modern technology.'

I think its facinating and scarey what we are doing to ourselves.

I did from 4th - 6th grade, YET when my wisdom teeth came in my bottom teeth still got a bit crooked.

as a kid? NOPE.

but when i turned 25? YUP. I always wanted to fix one crooked tooth. it wasn't bad, but i noticed it and it bothered me. but my parents couldn't afford braces.

so when i was able to afford them, i got them. my top teeth slanted inward (opposite of buck teeth) and my bottom teeth needed to be aligned, so i had top and bottom braces. had them on for 20 months.

now i wear my retainers faithfully.

I had them for 2 years. FH needed them but never got them. He wants them now. He was thinking of getting them like a year ago so hed have straight teeth for the wedding!
