the Freedom fries thing has been going on for a while. The cafeteria in the, either Sentate or House of Representatives chaged the name on thier menu as well as French toast to Victory Toast (I think that is the name)

Re: Did you hear about?

Hi T!

I also just got word about this.....I can't stand when they do this....Can't we just all support our troops?
Demonstrating is not going to stop anyone....

FYI, just incase anyone works in the area.....

Demonstration

When: Thursday, March 27, 2003 at 8:00 am

What: Anti-war Protests reportedly targeting the media

Where: Rockefeller Center at East 50th Street and 5th Avenue.
Other sites throughout the city

Demonstrators are reportedly planning to block 5th Avenue, however, they
may stage 'die-ins' wherever they are. A 'die-in' is an act of civil
disobedience by which participants lie in the street (simulating death)
usually blocking intersections.

Demonstrators are coordinating themselves into clusters and are being
encouraged to act independently by blocking streets and intersections
throughout the city during the day.

Re: Did you hear about?

Will someone let me know when they hold a patriot rally please? I missed the one last Sunday because I didn't know about it....

What I meant to say re support for the war was last week, only 35% supported the war...now, 7 days later, 49% DO support it. Ergo, support is up 14%. That's what I MEANT to say. I haven't had my coffee yet.

Re: Did you hear about?

I'm confused, these demonstrators are NOT supporting the troops? I thought they are just against the war, but that doesn't mean they don't care about the troops does it?

Re: Did you hear about?

People have been protesting France & French products for a while. I think two weeks ago there was a group protesting in front of the French consulate pouring french wine & brandy in the gutter.

Re: Did you hear about?

I do not understand how people are against protecting our freedom! to me, thats what it is... honestly, I want to cry every day I hear that another soldier has been killed - I hate war, I hate death and I hate the suffering that comes along with it but GEEZ!!! there's a psycho on the other side of the planet who wants to kill me simply because I'm an American...he kills his OWN PEOPLE without remorse...he killed his son in laws!!! I don't just don't understand what people are thinking.

Re: Did you hear about?

I just went to the other side of the building which faces 5th I face Madison and they are all over the place with their HATE WAR signs...

I think they don't like war but going agaisnt war isn't that saying you don't support the Americans who are there and are fighting?

Its like a MEXICAN StanD OFF..

I am obsessed bc I can't cross the ST now to my FRUIT man!

Re: Did you hear about?

I agree eroxgirl....
and not only that...

90% of the children in Iraq are suffering from disease and malnutrition b/c the depend on their 'government' for food and clean water....

The women in iraq are constantly raped, beaten and often killed for the most rediculous reasons...

People do not have ANY type of freedome in that country....

Don't these demonstrators care about what is going to happen to those people (and us for that matter)
is S.Hussein is not stopped?????????

Are they even thinking at all?

Re: Did you hear about?

No..T, your OBSESSED...meaning you're IN THE PINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Did you hear about?

Personally, I am still against the war--after it started I thought about the reasons for supporting it more, but my mind hasn't changed yet. I pray for our troops and their families and the people of Iraq every day. I'm not out there protesting, but I bet I have some of the same opinions as those protestors but that doesn't mean I'm not for America's freedom and it also doesn't mean that I'm not supporting our troops.

My point is, how can we generalize that b/c someone is using their right to protest against something that they don't feel is right, that it means that they are not praying for the people that have no choice but to be on the other side of the planet in combat. I don't believe that what some of you are saying (protestors not supporting troops) is true.

Please don't yell at me for stating my opinion here, I can feel it coming....

Re: Did you hear about?

IMO I think we should have went to WAR SEPT 12.

But I am a radical person.
I feel if you show weakness and allow people to walk all over you and others.

We allowed these animals to come into NYC AND blow up innocent people and we take it.. AHHH..

It makes me so UPSET to see these protestors!
