They have more Yellow Ribbons on the house and tree's its amazing and they go to pray groups everynight since the war started......
I would never go against you for your feelings on war.....

Re: Did you hear about?
You can support the troops without supporting the war. I mean who wants the troops to die? No one, but you can still feel that the war is wrong. Most of the people that don't support the war are mainly against Bushs decision and the way he went about it. he totally alienated the rest of the world. Which is wrong. But that doesn't mean they don't support the troops. I'm sure a lot of the troops don't even want to be there...

Re: Did you hear about?
Nina... I would NEVER say anything about ANYONE's opinion on war.... I believe it is every American's right to have an opinion on war (for or against) and I also believe it is that exact freedom that we are over there fighting for.
I shouldn't have given the impression that the protestors don't love and support our troops, but have they given any thought to the security risk they put this WHOLE CITY at while blocking and laying in the middle of streets? God forbid anything were to happen and emergency vehicles needed to get by....
I just think they energy and efforts could be better spent trying to come up with ways to effectively get rid of Sadam w/o war if that's what they want...
Don't just stand in the street and yell...give answers!
But everyone is entitled to their opinion and maybe I feel so strongly about our troops b/c one of my best friends is a Marine fighting for our freedom and the freedom of the iraqi people right now....
wherever he is I pray for him and Every other troop there...

Re: Did you hear about?
i was against the war in the beginning, but now that they are playing dirty (fake surrendering, firing from a hospital) they should all be nuked!! F'em!! you want to play dirty, then we should... fire at the hospital and say 'OOPS, missile malfunction'

Re: Did you hear about?
Nina, I respect your opinion.
My issue with the protesters is not that they don't support the troops, it's that they jeopardize the city security with their nonsense, and that by and large, that are mis-informed and poorly educated about THIS WAR (not in general).
I think that a great majority of them are doing it for attention, and are subscribing to the general 'civilians will suffer' and 'no blood for oil' hysteria. Got news for them: Iraqi civilians have been suffering for years at the hands of that madman. And this war is not about oil.

Re: Did you hear about?
Yeah it annoys me when people say its about the oil... its fine if you are against it for humanity and such, but to be so misinformed and blind to say its about oil. UGH!!! my dad marched on Sat against the war, but he's a pacifist hippy who marched against Vietnam and for civil rights so I know he was doing it for the right reasons.

Re: Did you hear about?
Nina: I understand where you are coming from. I personally believe that you can be supportive of the troops, and be against the war. My cousin has been waiting for a deployment date for weeks. The family has not seen him since he was called in. He missed his brother wedding's this past weekend because he is not allowed to leave his base. I love him like a brother, and when he is deployed to the middle east my prayers will be with him and all the troops; however, I still disagree with this war.

Re: Did you hear about?
I was studying in Berlin last summer and Hmmm that must mean that Berlin is basically shut down. Seeing as Berlin is filled with the Gap, Old Navy, MacDonald's, Burger King, Subway, Pizza Hut, don't forget about all of the movie theathers that show nothing but american movies - basically they are innundated with american things
