not sure - probably not - my wedding band wasnt that expensive - so for us i dont think its worth it to insure - my ering and my fhs breitling are a different story though those are insured

Re: did you insure your wedding band?
You really should - I tell my clients if you can afford to replace it with no problem then ok, if not insure it.

i agree - my ering is not something we could replace right away - but since my wedding band was under 5K if something happened to it we could replace it right away with no problem KWIM - so for us its not worth paying the premium on....

Mine will be insured, yes. Fh's, probably not since he works with cars and most likely will only wear it on special occasions.

Re: did you insure your wedding band?
mine is, it didn't raise the premium all that much on what I already had on my ering. We also have this as an add-on to our renters and car, so it seems like the more we insure the cheaper each thing is, if that makes any sense...

Re: did you insure your wedding band?
thanks girls! I think it makes sense to insure mine but I wasn't sure if this was typically something people put on their insurance policies. How much should I expect to pay for an appraisal? Ballpark figure of course

I could be wrong but I don't think you get charged for an appraisal. Again I could be wrong because mine came with the appraisel and we had someone else do an appraisel just to be sure and it didn't cost us anything.

Re: did you insure your wedding band?
My ring would have cost more to insure over the span of a few years than it's kind worth. I don't really lose things and I feel bad for whomever steals it since it's barely $500. Ha ha!

Re: did you insure your wedding band?
we didn't insure my wedding band, because I just wanted a plain band, so theres no sense ... but my e-ring and DH's band are insured, because theres diamonds

for my ering we went to a 3rd party - we chose macys in NYC - we wanted to go to someone who had no ties to the diamond - i heard that sometimes if the appraisal is done in house they can over appraise the stone so they can charge you more money when you purchase the stone - i wanted to know whether my FH got a good deal (and so did he) when we brought my ering to get appraised it did very well - so it confirmed that we got a good deal....KWIM?
