Did you invite guests to your RD? Where are my etiquette gurus?
We have a few people in our BP who are dating people off/on and then we have a few others who are in brand new relationships. Should I invite those people with their SO?
I feel like it has to be all or nothing but we have a huge guest list for the RD ( I swear it never ends!) and my other friends have been dating guys for years so how could I not invite them? I know some of their SO longer than I've known FH!
Also, did you invite grandparents to your RD?
And one more: My junior BM is my goddaughter/cousin. She's 13. Do I have to invite my aunt, uncle and her 2 brothers or can I just send her the invite and she can come with other family members?

i am dealing with similar questions!
well i just think of it this way - i have always been invited with FH to the RD and I would really prefer to have him there if i have to go
I am inviting all spouses/ significant others to the RD
we invited the grandparents- i think this is a must. . . we are also getting them small gifts so we need them there anyway!
my Jr BM is 12 and I THINK I will not be inviting her parents, she can come with her sister who is a BM

I actually had an issue with this b/c my FSIL wasplanning the RD for her father and didnt want to invite the groomsmen's dates b/c none of them were in any serious relationships.
but...yes. we invited all guests of our BP ... only because they were all staying at the hotel with us ( they came in from NJ.) It would be rude otherwise. Turned out only one of the 4 friends in my husbands BP brought a date.
If the RD is local I guess you could get away with not inviting guests, but I always assumed you did. The way I see it-- the bridal party usually has to spend a lot of time and money on your wedding, so I wanted to give BACK to them in some way...
We invited my uncle & aunt and their 2 kids to come with my cousin (my JR Bridesmaid) again-- only b/c they had to travel over 1/2 hour to the dinner the night before the wedding.. also, im very close to that family and we didnt want her brother & sister to get jealous. But I dont think it would be rude to just invite one parent.

See, in the craziness of all of this, I'm forgetting the point of the dinner, so thank you for reminding me of that. You are totally right.
