I just got back from meeting with my florist (Lisa at the Milleridge -- who is incredibly sweet btw) and it seems that the flowers I have my heart set on are going to blow my budget.
According to her Callas (the little orange ones) are $8 a stem and b/c they are so small you need a lot to make the look!
So basically I'm cutting them out of my CPs and my BMs b'ks.
I'm keeping them in my b'k and on my cake -- but that means my cake is up $100!!!
Has anyone else had this problem with callas?

MY FMIL is getting a wrapped bo-kay of 3 calla lillies (large ones) and it is costing me $22.
Not bad because we are also getting blue hydrangeas.

yes, they are pretty pricey. My bouquet was calla lillies and roses. But they are worth it, they are so pretty.

It was very pricey. The colors I wanted were not even in season so I had them shipped in from Guatemala and is soo expensive

Thanks for the warning. I wanted pink calla lillies for my bouquet, but maybe I'll have to rethink it.

MY BEST FRIEND WANTED TO GET THEM FOR HER WEDDING. SHE WANTED TO GET 4 TIED TOGETHER FOR EACH OF THE BRIDES MAIDS TO HOLD(SHE HAS 12 BM'S). HER FLORIST WANTED $12.00 EACH FLOWER.

OMG I didn't realize they were THAT expensive... we went to a florist this weekend and she will be getting back to us with a quote and now I'm afraid they will be way out of our budget and I'll have ot start looking for other flowers I like...grr..I hate how everything I like is too expensive.

yeah cala lilies are one of the expensive flowers. I am using them for my cp's and my bm's bouquets

I wanted the mini purple calla bo-k, but I added in roses to stay within my budget!!! It'll still be beautuful. But yeah $8 a mini calla ia about right

i dunno if you already have a contract with your florist or not but im having calla lillies and orchids for my bo-ks and cp's and im paying the same price i would pay if i used roses or anyother flower...im using burtons for my flowers...they give you that one price for any flower which i think is great

wow! i had no idea they were so expensive. my bo-k was plum calla's and lavendar roses, and the BM and MOH bo-k also had only calla's and roses....but i didn't even think about the price cause burton's only charges for volume not type of flower.

I am using ALL calla lillies and I know they are pricey, but I have had my heart set on them FOREVER!!!! I say, go for it.. it's your day and when will you get to use them again???????

I know once i saw them i loved how it looked...i was torn between cala's and branches so went with a mixture of both

Me too!
I am using Burtons, which charges the same for all flowers so my bouquest and all my BM bo-ks will be callas.

Me too!
I am using Burtons, which charges the same for all flowers so my bouquest and all my BM bo-ks will be callas.
Ditto, there are other places besides burtons, I know wedding center in commack has the same policy about charging per b'k not type of flower. There may be other florists out there that do the same as well.
