More of the story.....

By the time I arrived at the reception hall, there was a small hole on that side. I thought it only happened to me.....well....it happened to two other BM's. What $%^&* Then to top it all, she doesn't give us anything as a BM's favor. I will never do that to my BM's. I am only having two BM's, their dress will be black and tea lenght. I found a great price at a Bridal Salon and I am going to let them choose their own style, so they can wear them again for another ocassion. Well...this is my story

I'd love to see pictures if you have some!!! I wanted blue dresses too (a medium blue -- not navy or ice blue) and had a lot of trouble finding it too. You'd think blue would be a more popular color! In the end I found an actual existing dress we could order that my BMs loved and that came in close enough to what I wanted color-wise.

One of my BM's sisters was a MOH in a wedding where they had custom made dresses .... $400 custom made dresses...

No. I am in a Nov wedding and the experience has been a nightmare!! The dress is $340, Shower $150 plus gift ($100). Tonight is the Bachelorette party. $90 for show tix, $100 for the limo and another $100 for dinner. Plus, the MOH is a b*tch!!!!! It was good b/c now I know what NOT to do as a bride.

Re: Did you like being bridesmaid?

I have been a BM 3 times for 3 really good friends. 2 of the 3 dresses were 'eh' but we always had fun. The only thing is that now that I'm seeing it from the other side, I know I could have been a more attentive BM. I was totally into planning showers and BPs and whatnot, and making emergency kits for the big day and helping them with whatever they needed that day, but my BMs have been SO good to me and I wish I could do it again for them!

I have been a bridesmaid 5 times (6th time will be in January). I have had mixed experiences but overall good experiences. They're usually fun to be a part of, especially on the day of the wedding. The worst experience I had was being MOH for my cousin. She was a total and complete bridezilla and had absolutely no concept (or she just didn't care) of how much it costs to be in a wedding. This was almost 10 years ago and I still shudder when I think about dealing w/ her as a bride.

it was for my brothers wedding so OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!

now i am a bridesmaid at my MOH's wedding and I couldnt love it more.

i think it depends on your relationship with the person.

i loved both of the brides (and grooms) dearly so therefore being a bridesmaid for them was just an honor!

My worst experience is not dealing with the bride herself but her MAID-ZILLA. Apparently the day before she somehow bought an emergency kit, which was fine. It was a small bag with makeup, sewing kit, etc, but she made the bride PARANOID saying that she had to have someone carry it with them 24-7...on TOP of that, she had purchased this STEEL Briefcase, like right outta James Bond or something and wanted someone to carry it and guard it with their life. The briefcase held the marriage certificate and I don't know yet since I'm not married yet, but do you HAVE to carry the certificate around everywhere you go?

Anyways long story short, she had the marriage certificate, makeup emergency kit in this stupid steel briefcase and didn't want to hold it. So guess who was in charge of it? ME!!! I was so pissed off. I mean I'm a BM, I can't walk down the aisle with a silly briefcase...So I got my friends who were guests to bring it into the church and they set it in a pew. ANyways after the ceremony, we all had to walk out of the church, I had to frantically find the pew where the suitcase was and get it and carry it with me. All through the photo shoot after at the park, MAID ZILLA kept saying 'where is the suitcase..' I just chose to ignore her. I left it on the rented bus. THen when we got back to the hotel to get ready for the reception. She was like 'Someone bring the suitcase,' I just walked outta the room and ignored her.

So recently I was at my FH hubbies house and I saw a 'steel briefcase' and I started to shudder and I asked him what was in it. Apparently it was a bbq set. HAHA.
