Did you like Good in Bed?

Did you like Good in Bed?

In the words of Randy Jackson -- 'I don't know dog, it just didn't do it for me' LOL -- seriously, while there were issues I could relate to, I found Cannie's character contradicting at times. Sometimes she was so so bold and forward and others she was kind of pathetic. Seemed too extreme in either direction for me. I do have to say though, that I thought Bruce's columns were open honest and well written. I'd be a regular reader if it were a real column.

I'm with you. I thought it was going to be better than it was. I thought it was OK.

I thought it was good...I was kind of expecting fluff...so maybe thats why I liked it better...

what I really like about it is that its not a book about a girl who is 5'10' and 120 pounds...I think it will help create a path for other books like this...

next...we have to have movies that don't have the skinny-minnies

I like the plot of the book, but it pales compared to bridget jones diary

I thought it was really good, I was bawling when she almost lost the baby. The writing was so good, I totally felt her pain at that point. And, of course, the happy ending is always nice.

Re: Did you like Good in Bed?

I read Good in Bed last year (honeymoon book!!) and then started to re-read it since it was this month's book.

I think I dislike it even more the second time around.

OK, I do like the fact that Cannie doesn't need to get skinny for the book to have a happy ending.

I just found her a little whiney, a little shallow. Things just seemed to happen for her-she meets a famous actress who showers her with gifts, meets the movie star of her dreams and he asks her to go for a walk.

I didn't really like the way the book was written. I noticed some inconsistancies that started to bother me.

On the plane to LA, Cannie mentions how she was reading magazines in first class and she didn't have any baby books with her. A page later, she says something about having a baby book with her.

Cannie met Bruce while during an imitation of Tanya eating crab with a broken arm. Chapters later, we read how Cannie breaks the news to Bruce that her mother's lover moved in to her house.

I know, I'm being petty, but those kinds of thing drive me NUTS! I took too many writing classes in college...
