did you purchase furniture on your own or register for it?

I think I should just buy it on my own becuase I dont forsee anyone buying me my furniture-- its a bit pricey and being that my mom and grandma both are not here I( cant foresee anyone else buying it for me. But Im getting mixed reviews from people.

we are going to be purchasing the marjority of the baby room furniture ourselves. (crib- WE THINK my mom is going to be buying it or helping us pay for it)
We choose not to register for anything else (armorire, bookcase, changing table) b/c in our opions its to pricey (for our families) and also it takes time for delivery (some places are up to 3 months) so for us we plan on setting up the babys room in March (1 month prior) so we are going to order first thing in January. and who knows when a shower will be?

Also, IMO i really dont want people saying HOW COULD THEY PUT THAT on there? We are looking into certain things we want that may be more or less pricey in ohter people's minds and well to avoid all 'discusions' and 'can u believe them' talk we choose to buy on our own.

My parents purchased our crib and dresser. We paid for the glidder/ottoman and the amoire...I did not register for it. They told us that they were paying for it plus I could not see anyone paying hundreds of dollars on a shower gift except my parents.

We didn't register for our furniture, we are planning on buying it ourselves.

I didnt register for it. But my FMIL took me to the store and bought the crib and mattress for me. and my uncle gave me a gift card with the perfect amount to get that rocker I had really wanted on it
FH and I bought the changing table/dressers.

We bought our own. I figure the only person who may want to spend that much on us is my mom, and if she does she'll offer to pay for part or all of it when it comes time to do so.
