Did you take your FMIL or FSIL to look for your dress?
Original post by LIPrincess00
I am not sure if I have to bring them. I really just want to go with my mom and sister (MOH). I really dont want to bring them but dont know the proper etiquette. I want to add that my FMIL is not asking to go, but my FSIl wants to be the only one to go. Help.

I went solo.. the whole time, every time.. loved every moment of it.
Still feel like gown shopping just for fun!
I'd vote against taking them (in laws).
Just my $.02

I would go with just my mom and sister first, then after your gown comes in you can invite them along for a fitting.
Personally, I went with my mom, stepmom, sister and best friend. It was a really nice day for all. I wouldn't want to go with my FSIL or FMIL. We are not that close and I wouldn't want more opinions to cloud my judgement.

I asked my FMIL if she would like to go. She was so excited. (FH only has a brother) . I'm guess that I'm lucky to have a good relationship with her. Do what you want to do if you want to bring her than bring her. I did learn one important thing don't bring too many people dress shopping with you. You could go insane with EVERYONES opinion.

I should start out by saying that my MIL and I have a very good relationship. I've known DH for 12 years now, so we are very comfortable with each other's family, even without the other there.
I took MIL looking with me one day when we were out shopping. She has only sons, and I wanted her to experience the whole thing.

i agree, leave them at home. even with your mom and sister and the salesgirl and the random people in the store who also love to comment, you'll have enough noise going on!!
