Did you want to find out the sex??

Original post by DeniseMang

Hi Mommies.

Ok, so we are now discussing TTC towards the end of the year. My DH wants to find out the sex of the baby. I would prefer to be surprised for my first. I realize it would makes things easier, from a practical standpoint. However,,,,,,,,

So, can you lovely mommies give me some pros and cons. I can use this to strick up a great discussion tonight with DH.

Thanks,
Denise

We want to be surprised. I like the fact that we will be anxiously waiting to see what we have. We also can't wait to call people and tell them, its a _______!( or )

DIDDO to IRish TRacy- I felt the same way...it was worth the surprise! we both wanted a boy and we got our little girl...no matter what you wish for, the love you have for your child takes over. You could care less what you had!!

Yea for little girls!

I'm still undecided, but knowing me, I will find out. I can't wait for surprises, plus I need to know if I should paint the nursery Pink or Blue

DH and I have talked about this...even though we are not pg...we want to know...I just feel like I will be able to prepare more if I know...

We are trying to figure out a way to make the finding out at the doctors a little more exciting...like having the dr write it down on a piece of paper and then having it announced somewhere...

Hi Denise!

I kind of wanted to know, I am bad at waiting for surprises. But my DH didnt want to know at all. He is easy going that I could have got my way but it meant so much to him that I decided that I would agree to wait. I was so glad we did. It was so much fun to wait! I always tell this story but when he was born, I was the first one who could see his private parts when he came out and I was laying there yelling 'It's a boy!' over and over and then I burst into tears. If I knew the gender, I still would have burst into tears and been as thrilled but for us, it was just so exciting to wait. DH got to share the big news when he called people that night, which was great for him, he really had fun.

If we have another, God willing, we will wait again.

It's totally a personal preference. As you can see from other responses here, alot of the ladies were very happy with their decision to find out.

We are waiting, and having no regrets. It is so exciting to have people guess what it is.

Erica believe me - it was incredibly special to just hear it with the doctor - and just the two of you in there watching your amazing little baby dance and wiggle. It's a great moment regardless.
