Re: did you wing it??
Welll after my trip to Barrons today...my veil is ordered but he said he would wait to make it until I drop the swatch off. I went to the Wedding Salon of Manhasset to try to get a swatch yesterday - they said they had to order the swatch from Kenneth Pool and it will be sent to me in 2 weeks. I will drop the swatch off to Barrons as soon as I get it. There were so many colors to choose from...I am thinking the light ivory will be a good match since my dress is ivory (looks white to me though!). He said it is better to match or go a little lighter...it is when the veil is darker that is looks HORRIBLE (his words lol). SO to be on the safe side, I will drop the swatch off! He will have it ready for me in July. I am sure he could have had it done quicker but my wed isn't until Sept. It sounded like he won't start to make the veil for a while bc he has so many orders right now which is why he gave me a date of July. Thanks for your help!!!

Re: did you wing it?? update!
I ordered my veil last week, and they're not dying it until my dress comes in. We didn't want to match it to a swatch-my dress is blush pink, which is really a bit more champagne-y toned. I don't want to risk a cotton candy veil-which could very well happen.

i'm so nervous about this, i dont have a swatch and i wont be able to get one in time to order my veil next weekend....
does anyone know how long barron's takes for your veil to come in?
I ordered a veil 2 weeks before my wedding and they were able to make it in 2 weeks. I didnt get it from Barron's though.
Do you NEEd to order it next weekend? if you really want to match it to your dress and wait for a swatch, you could wait a little bit. Most dresses come in about 2 months before the wedding about and thats enough time to get a veil.
I want to go this weekend because at that point my wedding will be 2 months away and i dont want to wait and then they cant do it in time. My dress is already in, the seamstress has it and my next fitting is not until the end of April.

You should be able to go and ask her for a swatch!
