Did you/Are you registering for fine China?

Did you/Are you registering for fine China?

As of right now, I have registered for it. I LOVE it! And I know I will never buy it for myself. I 'think' we'll use it for holidays and the like, but it's about $72 a place setting (after the BB&B coupon) and I'm asking for 12 settings. Plus serving platters and stuff.

I'll prob have like 70ish people at my shower. I don't know if I want my china enough to not get any of my other stuff. Does that make sense?

What are you doing??

We did! Ours is at Macys and I love it! I wanted something that wasn't too flashy and wouldn't go out of style over time - I'm in love with the one we picked.

I know I will never buy it for myself unless I get a little of it as a start for my shower. I can fill in the missing pieces little by little. If it's not something you really want I don't suggest registering for it. When we decided that we wanted it we said that anything on our registry that we really needed/wanted we would just buy ourselves.

You can always exchange it for the things you really want if you change your mind after the shower.

I registered for it and can't wait. I like to have dinner parties and be fancy so I am so looking forward to getting all my china. I actually don't care about the other items, but probably because I have a lot already. Every girl needs china

I'm not.. we've lived together for 2 years already and I really would rather other stuff instead.. plus I love my everyday plates

We didn't. We originally registered for it but then took it off. It's not really 'us' and we figure nobody's going to be buying it for us anyway, and even if some people do, we'll never get the complete set.

I registered for some china from BBB. I just checked and mine is $128 a place setting, lmao. I didn't realize it was that much. Maybe I should take it off, because I totally get what you mean by getting that instead of something else. But I guess exchanging will always work.

We didn't register for china. FH and I felt there are so many other things we KNOW we'll use and would rather get. We did register for slightly more expensive everyday plates and we also registered for added decorative plates we can use when entertaining

We did too 129 a place setting but ours also has a 4 or 5 setting bundle for 300 something. So we put 2 on of those and a few individual sets. I wonder if we are going to get it

We did (well, I did, FH couldn't care less about fancy plates)! My mom bought all 12 place settings. I registered for wine glasses, water glasses, accent plates and flatware, too. My aunt bought me all the wine glasses and my MOH got half the accent plates, but aside from that NO ONE is buying any of that stuff, which kinda stinks cause thats really all I'll still buy for myself afterward.

We did!!! We registered for a 12 place setting and its 145 per setting. I love it and even if I only get half ill purchase the other half! I look forward to hosting holidays :) we also registered for every day place settings! I hope we get a good amount of what we need! The fine china and fhs ice cream maker were our only 2 non needed items on the registry. We dont live together so we need everything

We live together and have a ton of stuff that I'm ready to replace. We've lived together almost 3 years now. My mom bought us out everyday dishes before I registered for the fine china! ANd his mom bought us all our bedding - BEFORE we registered for the china!

Friends of mine who have china tell me they use holiday plates - bought separately and no longer use their china. UCK! I don't know what to do!

Word to the wise - if you haven't registered yet, don't tell ANYONE you did until you know you're done!

We registered for 'casual china' so somewhere between fine china and everyday dishes. I thought this was a good compromise because it is fancy enough to use during holidays but durable enough to use regularly. It is not as expensive as fine china, but is still good quality.

My sister did the same 5 years ago when she registered. She says now she is a little sad that she doesnt have the fine china because theres no other chance to ever get fine china, unless you buy it for yourself of course. But she hardly uses her casual china as it is, so still she is glad she didnt waste anymore money on the fancier stuff.

Fh and I inherited his grandmothers china when we moved into our house. 16 place settings. I never planned on registering for it though

THIS!! And I know someday I will inherit my mothers and that means more to me than getting just china for my shower when we are registering for things we will actually use and need now!

I was going to but my mother said she will give me her fine china plus her mother's and my father's mother's. I think 3 sets of fine china should be sufficient.

My grandma surprised me by randomly buying it and having it shipped to my house! Since she did that I don't have to register for it. If she didn't do that I would have added it to my registry.
