Thats how my family has usually done it, sometimes with outside help? If not Im going to need to ask others to be ushers and buy more gifts right?

Does the groom act as an usher too?
Best man?

I only have Groom
Bestman
3 other GM

Thats enough?

What do ushers DO? Just take people to a row?

I am having separate Ushers. They will be passing out petal cones, programs and seating people.

I wanted to give my other 2 brothers something special to do since they aren't in the bridal party.

I always thought that groomsmen and ushers were the same thing. What else does a groomsman do if not seating people? Stand at the altar and look good?

I went to a wedding where they had ushers to seat people and the groom and groomsmen were in another room 'prepping' Then they all walked in together before the bridal party.

I don't think I've ever actually seen an usher seat people and I've been to a ton of weddings. People can figure out how and where to sit and most don't want to wait to be seated b/c they want the 'good' seats.

I'm confused...is it okay that we have GM's but then have 2 ushers as well??? I wanted to include my brothers in the ceremony b/c they're not GM's for the FI, so decided to make them Ushers....is this okay???

We had just a best mand & 1 groomsman. Usually the Best man keeps the groom company wherever they are waiitng & then at the alter. So we just had the one grooman left.

So, we had one usher--my brother. He wore his own suit, but he got a bout, no gift ( my mother said so- I didn't argue.-- I brought him
souveneirs from my HM cruise.)

He didn't really end up escorting anyone besides my mom & grandma. The usher escorted a few people. They were mostly there to greet people & hand out programs & point people in the right direction. You should be fine with 3 groomsmen unless you are having a lot of people.

ETA- for those of you with brothers-- it is fine to have them as extra ushers, that's why I did.
