Re: Diet and Exercise
I like to use the suggested exercises in the fitness magazines, and do some cardio and yoga on top of that. I usually stick to them a few months, and then switch to a new one because your body usually plateaus. Try Shape or Fitness.

Re: Diet and Exercise
I didn't change anything in my diet or exercise in preparation for the wedding, but I normally eat pretty healthy and am a gym junkie. I really enjoy cardio, especially running. Have you tried running at all as part of your cardio routine?

Re: Diet and Exercise
Used to walk 4 miles but that stopped working. Now I am training 2x a week and doing Pilates floor work 1x a week. I can see my body changing slowly but surely. So frustrating!!!

Atkins does work, I lost 50 lbs on it because I gained alot of weight during culinary school. Just be careful when doing atkins, I developed kidney stones while on it.

Re: Diet and Exercise
Atkins, Step Class, and various cardio - 40 pounds and 3 sizes down in 3 months.
With Atkins make sure there are no hidden carbs in the stuff you're eating and watch the caffeine intake.
I found out that some place make omelettes with flour (IHOP) and that messed me up a bit...
Good Luck

Weight watchers! Also, I get bored with the gym so I do the IO Magrack workouts. Did you guys know that they have the Buff Bride workouts on it right now? They are short but I'm really sore from doing it the other morning

Cardio, cardio and more cardio! The last few pounds are always the worst and slowest. You'll get there, don't get discouraged. Good luck

Re: Diet and Exercise
i definitely recommend WW! i try to hit the gym at least 3 times a week but it gets boring so now that the weather is nice, i walk or jog after work.
i've heard that when you plateau, you should change things up a bit. either your diet or your workouts. that should jump start things for you. good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I need to change up my workout a bit too. I perfer doing things like abs, legs, arms and buns but what I should really be doing is cardio for weight loss in addition to the toning.

that's great but 1 to 2 lbs a week is healthy - you are losing weight too fast- not good for keeping it off long term

Re: Diet and Exercise
I am spinning 3x a week, callanetics 3 x week and hiring a personal trainer on Friday who can work with me despite my back issues. :)
