Diet Pills?

Re: Diet Pills?

I have been on every diet pill known to man and I can truly tell you that they are dangerous. I have high blood pressure now and I really think they did damage to me. I've taken everything from over the counter to black market stuff to pills that were prescribed by my doctor.
Theres no quick fix, you gain it back and sometimes double the weight gain with the pills. You have to watch what you eat and exercise, its the only way.....

Diet pills are evil. They give you false hope. All the bottles say you still have to eat right and exersize anyway. I thought of taking them. I was working out and exercising and I just couldn't lose any weight. Glad I didn't because they would have caused more harm then good since I have a medical condition like diabetes. All I had to do was regulate my glucose levels and the weight has been coming off. I say eat right and exersise and if you don't see results consult you doctor

I've used Hydroxycut before. The dosage is 1-2 pills, but I found that two gave me palpitations and made my heart beat really fast, even at rest.

I read in a women's bodybuilding magazine (H&M Hers or something like that) that they are supposed to give you more energy to work with more intensity during cardio or to sustain energy during exercise for a longer period of time. Nowhere did the magazine mention that it should be used not in an exercise context.

I found that they weren't optimal for me. My work and other time constraints mean that I generally exercise for 30 mins. to 1 hour at a time, which cancels out the reasoning behind exercising for a long time. Plus, I have to warm up for an extended period of time or else I screw up my knees. So the intensity theory, in that limited amount of time, goes out the window as well.

I am not sure where you live, but the gym by me in centereach is $69 to join and 11 month there after.
Just a thought.

What gym is that? I live in Lake grove and have been looking for one.

It is Aspen Total Fitness. They are on Middle country Rd just past Nichols Rd. They actually have three gyms you can go to. The one in Centereach/Selden is unisex and two ladies only gyms in selden and Middle Island. My FH and I really like it.

Today, I really feel like crap, I am feeling like I am letting myself go completely. I use to work out religously. I am against diet pills, I think you need to excersie. I do not think they are good for you. Money is so tight, I can not afford a memebership to the gym, find other ways. Diet pills are bad for your heart and can lead to to major problems.

I live in Nassau county.

Oh that is too bad.

I feel so overwhelmed with everything that is going on and am so exhuasted that I don't feel up to working out. 2007 Brides we can do it !!! That's my New Year's Resolution to feel absolutely amazing and now I worked hard for it!

Re: Diet Pills?

I have one piece of advice...STAY AWAY FROM ALL OF THEM!!!!! PLEASE!
I have 2 friends that took TrimSpa one with the effedra and one without. While both lost a lot of weight and consequently put some of it back on, the effedra gave her a lot of repructions (sp?) she now has heart palpations and an ulcer from the stuff kicking up too much acid and the other effedra free gave her what boils down to horrible migraines and panic attacks both of which she has been hospitalized for.
Oh yeah and I can't just dis TrimSpa, I tried Smart Burn (which has Hoodia in it) figuring it would help and had a lot fewer chemicals, gues what? While I lost about 40lbs, I have since (3 months) put it all back on plus 10, even though I excersize, and I now have made my heart murmur worse from the amount of caffiene making my heart beat faster, an ulcer and acid reflux.
FH took Stacker2's for a while and has had some success but it reeked havoc on his system too.

Please don't use them, if you want to lose weight I am begging of you to either join Weight Watchers or if you can afford it a nutritionist and don't forget to excersize! (which has Hoodia in it)

Okay so I was wondering if anyone is using them, if they did in the past, what they used and if they worked?
I hear on WBLI all the time about this Hoodia (?)......
Im thinking I might try it?

A big NO NO in my book. They dont work..think about it...if someone actually created a pill that makes you lose weight so quickly dont you think it would be all over the news? More popular? Yet..its not. I have tried them (yrs ago..) and all it did was increase my heart rate I thought I was going to drop...please avoid them...exercise and balanced eating..thats all it takes..sounds hard, but you can do it.

Re: Diet Pills?

Please, anyone reading this, DO NOT TRY DIET PILLS.... ESPECIALLY if they haven't been approved by the FDA like hoodia....

you would be playing russian roulette with your body. Most of these things are rather potent stimulents, and can have a phen/phen effect in some people. (sudden heart attack! )
Most of the herbal supplements sold at GNC and other similar suppliers do nothing in the best case scenario, and could be extremely harmful in a worst case scenario.....

I've lost approx 30lbs over the last 6 months.... how did I do it?

Cut out 70% of the carbs from my diet, cut the fat, no artificial sweeteners, and ate a lot of veggies and salads.... oh, and I bought the Firm step aerobics tapes. It's tedious as all hell, but it's the only way to become healthier!!!!

As for cost, the DVD and step package cost about $70, and I spent another $70 on various dumbells.... one time fee.... gym is too expensive!

I would stay away from them too. FH's ex girlfriend started taking some and had heart palpitations and all kinds of other things happened. He said something was off with her liver too. I have been having trouble losing the weight I have put on since high school and my doctor advised me to try Weight Watchers. He has seen a lot of great results in his patients and said he did some research and found out it is one of the most successful ways of losing weight and keeping it off. My dad and I are going to start going to meetings together after the holidays. I'm psyched to go.

NANCY........Diet Pills are a big NO!!!!
You need to eat better.....no more hot pockets and chicken nuggets
Seriously though, just change your diet and start going to the gym and you will see that it works....
Diet pills only bring more problems for you and almost always once you stop taking them you gain all the weight right back!!
