Hi Girls, It's too late for me (12 days?), but I ran into my old boss and we were talking about dieting and i was telling her how I just basically eat one meal a day right now and live at the gym. She said she lost 40 pound is 15 weeks on herbalife? She is now a distributor. She said with all the vitamins and stuff that she had so much energy it was crazy. ANYWAY...just wanted to let you guys know. I plan to give it a try after the honeymoon, but wanted to give you girls a heads up.... sounds good for those trying to loose a bunch of weight before your big day! Good luck to all...I've probably said it before, but you girls have been really great with advice and calming words! Thanks again for everything! christine

Re: Dieting?
I commend you for making efforts with dieting...but don't you think one meal a day and living at the gym in unhealthy? You don't want to pass out on your big day!! I guess i am just opposed to crash dieting..its so bad for your body, and can really mess up and throw off your electrolytes/metabolism/and all other metabolic functions. Just be careful. Three healthy meals a day with 1/2 an hour of exercise a few times a week sounds better...
As far as herbalife..I know nothing about it, so I can't give my opinion. But I do know that I'm not a fan of diet pills. just my opinion!
Congrats on everything and good luck!

Re: Dieting?
Thanks for the concern...it is unhealthy...not gonna lie....just doing it for week or so. I don't think herbalife is pills ...rather than all natural meal replacement shakes, i believe (not sure), that you have two shakes a day with small snacks and a balanced meal; all while taking vitamins.

Oh, ok i wasn't sure what herbalife was! I took xenadrine years ago and had such a bad experience so i guess i am just a weirdo now when it comes to supplements..herbalife sounds ok though :)
Good luck with everything!!!

I'm not a doctor or anything, but I know weight loss because the sport I do requires weigh-ins and cutting some weight. If you only eat one meal a day, even though you are exercising like crazy, you probably won't see the results you need/want. A better plan (so you'll have energy to enjoy your wedding and not be so stressed the week before) is:
-small frequent meals/snacks. This will keep your metabolism up higher, thus burning more calories. -Hyrdrate, hydrate, hydrate. Drink water. -If you aren't eating enough calories, your body won't burn fat, because it goes into 'storage mode' because its being depraived.
FM me if you have questions.

Re: Dieting?
If you had to choose the lesser of two evils in regard to weight loss, I would go with a protein shake as a MEAL REPLACEMENT rather than a supplement. I would NOT use any type of pill unless prescribed by your doctor. Any of the herbal supplements contain something in them that have an effect on one or more of your internal systems. Years ago, I had tried one (can't remember which) and it sped up my heart rate as well as made me cranky, irritable and flat out mean to people. I am certainly no authority on diet and fitness but you do not want to get sick before your big day. Unless you can lose 10 pounds in that short period of time, your dress probably won't fit much different. If by some chance you DO lose a significant amount of weight, your dress may not fit the way it did at your last fitting. Just a few things to consider.

Well its cutting it close...but you already have your dress fitted right??
I did the South Beach diet and the first 2 weeks helped me to lose the little tummy bulge because it cut out carbs...but you don't want to do anything drastic so you are weak for the big day!

Re: Dieting?
hey guys, thanks, i always check everything with my uncle...he's a doctor, so i wouldn't do any pills or diet that would do me harm. I've done every diet imaginable, and been mostly successful on ww, but i know how my body is, and i need a jump start for the next couple of weeks....this makes me feel better, believe it or not...
Anyway, thanks for the concerns, didn't want to cause a big to do, just wanted to give those who had a few months to lose weight a way recommended by someone. I know herballife isn't about 'weightloss pill' rather than replacing meals with shakes and having a well balanced meal.

Re: Dieting?
Whatever method you choose make sure it is something that is sustainable for a lifestyle. Pills and shakes don't fit that bill for me, so I wouldnt go that route. also keep in mind that losing weight isfor more than the physical appearance purpose. It is for overall being healthier for your life. My recommend would be to read up on how your body processes food and research why 3 or even 5 meals a day are more benficial than 1, especially if they are vitamin and nutrient packed.
Good luck!

I couldn't agree with you more. I have been working out for a while now and have not lost or gained a pound in a year and half (with the exception of monthly bloat). My metabolic rate allows me to consume a certain amount of calories at rest and still maintain my weight at a constant. Add exercise to the mix and I can actually eat more than I need to. Remember which foods contain the most vitamins and minerals and try to eat more of those. I am not on the low-carb bandwagon but when given a complete meal, I will ALWAYS eat the proteins first, then the veggies, and finally the carbs. It works for my lifestyle. And to be honest, when I want a piece of candy or cake, I have to be willing to make the sacrifice of exercising a lil bit longer to burn the extra calories I consumed. At the same time, I am building muscle and losing inches which would explain why I don't lose or gain weight.
My problem now is actually toning it down because my trainer designed a program that made my back and chest too wide. I am not large breasted but I have a large span across making it difficult for me to wear blouses. I am tall and it makes me look slightly amazon.

Re: Dieting?
I did the LA Weight loss program, and I lost 15 pounds in 3 months, I lost 7 pounds in the first week, That program is really good, Unfortunately I had a set back, and I am not following the program anymore, but I have been able to maintain the weight loss.

Re: Dieting?
I unfortunately right now am doing it for the physical appearance....unfortunately not blessed with a fast metabolism. so my crash diet will work well for me for the next couple of weeks. I've done weight watchers for a number of years and it works and is healthy. I'll return to normality after the wedding. THanks for the thoughts though....

I did the LA Weight Loss program too and was very successful at it. They promote small (5 meals a day and 8 glasses of water) I lost 45 pounds in 5 months. I have completed the program over 5 months ago and have only gained 10 pounds back.
So I am going to follow the rules again so that I can loose those 10 pounds before my big day. But I would recommend it to anyone. It is healthy and manageable if you are committed.
My mom, fiance, MOH, as well as myself are all starting this Saturday. Wish us luck

Re: Dieting?
I actually had this trainer my mother knows come over and design an in-home workout plan for me to prepare for my wedding. -Mainly because I HATE HATE HATE the gym. 12 days isn't a lot of time, but honestly, if you can get someone to show you exactly what to do to get results --you'll get results faster than you think. A sidenote though-- a friend of mine lost a ton of weight taking Metabolife. Never tried it, but it worked for her.l

Re: Dieting?
I also did LA Weight Loss and lost that stubborn 10 pounds that will not go away!! I fell off the wagon hard, but am trying to get back on it...the best part are the 2 'candy bars' each day! (I have also found that the Slim Fast snack bars have almost the same nutirent and fat counts and are cheaper, but a bit smaller than the LA bars...)
LA Weightloss really is great!

Exactly!! The bars are great..but are expensive from LA. So I use PRIA bars. They have them in drug stroes like rite aide, target, and in supermarkets such as stop and shop for 99 cents and they regularly go on sale for 69 cents from time to time.
