Is anyone taking supplements like slimquick etc to help them loose weight? If so, is it working?

Not yet, but I'm interested in taking myalli. Has anyone tried that?
OMG SCRATCH THAT!! I just googled my alli and saw this site that posted all the side effects!!! OMG it sounds horrific. I'm definitely not down for the 'Explosive darrhea, oily discharge in stool, flatulence and uncontrolled bowel movements'!!! That sounds like something out of a nightmare!

I'm afraid to take that one because I'm afraid that I'm going to spend lots of time on the toilet! That's the fat blocker that used to be prescription. My uncle took it years ago, and granted, he didn't eat the best of foods while he was on it, he said it was gross the amount of time he was in the bathroom. The good thing is that it will definatly force you NOT to eat fat.

Don't take those!! They are so bad for you, and never work.. Just work out 3-4 times a week, and eat smaller meals multiple times a day, rather than 3 big meals. I've tried tons of diets and nutrition plans. For me, I do best on the South Beach diet (although it takes alot of discipline, it got me to lose 15 pounds 1 1/2 years ago)..
Some other diet books that I recommend are
1) the eat clean diet, by Tosca Reno 2) the 5 Factor Diet, by Harley Pasternak
Plus I know alot of girls who did great on Weight Watchers-youhave the option of Weight Watchers online, if you can't get in weighed in at meetings.
Good luck! Starting Jan 1 its on for me too.

Be careful with that stuff. I did Metabolife back in college. It helped I was losing weight, but one night going to a party I drank a little bit and my heart started beating quickly and I passed out. My friend Brian carried me home and fh (who was just a friend then) did some research on the stuff. The two of them chucked all the pills.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm..............................
Do you NOT remember yelling at me years ago for taking diet pills?! Did you forget the crazy side effects I had? -Passing out -Mood swings Not a good idea.
Although I lost tons of weight, I was exercising alllllllll day long. Who knows if they were actually working.
I suggest coming to the gym with Melissa and I. Go on weight watchers. It may take a little bit of time, but at least it will be off for life.
See you on Christmas. <3 - Your sister

Re: dieting!
Guys, don't take any diet pills. I used to when I was in High School and it F'd up my thyroid. They aren't worth it, TRUST ME.

Re: dieting!
I've been doing Jenny Craig (though Weight Watchers is great too) and trying to get to the gym at least 3 times a week - am down 27 lbs in 2 months...seriously, best thing is to eat smaller meals, every few hours, stick to veggies, fruits, healthy proteins, and get to the gym...it's working! Annoying but worth it GOOD LUCK!!

I have a friend (that i work with) who took that and she called me in tears one night... all of those side effects DO happen apparently and fast too. I felt so bad for her she stopped taking it right away but she was out of work for 4 days!!!!

Re: dieting!
I say don't take anything.. try to exercise and eat healthy as best you can!! I made the mistake of taking something back in college (i dont even know why) and I ended up getting rushed to the emergency room a few weeks later. My heart rate was 100+ and I fainted etc.. NOT GOOD.

I agree all those supplements are horrible and the side effects are not worth the possibility of some sort of accomplishment! Work out and eat small lean portions frequently I'll make u feel energized and you'll deff lose weight. it is hard to schedule but after a disciplined week or two you'll get a hang of the routine. I've been trying to watch what I eat and lost 4 pounds not much but that's with not exercising at all. Starting my plan with a personal trainer Jan 1st. will work with her on exercise and nutrition and continue on my on based on what she teaches me

Re: dieting!
You know, this drives me crazy but I'm guilty of it too. Just don't overeat! We know exactly what to do to lose weight and we're all just looking for quick fixes. All of these girls that 'can't understand' why they're not losing weight are most likely not eating right.
I'm thinking of making a public blog in 2009 where I list what I've eaten for the day... I'm absolutely ashamed of the way I eat at times and I know if I made it public knowledge I would not eat like a pig!

Re: dieting!
my journalism teacher in HS took nutraslim or some wacky stuff. She was in the hospital for 3 weeks and out of school for 2 months because they started eating away at her insides. Totally disgusting.
