I went on the 'Dayna Diet'.. I lost 6-7lbs.. and I started back at the gym but then I got my friend and I got sick, so I haven't been in 2 weeks!!

whats that?

I do WW- not as strict as i should though. Ideally I would like to lose 10-15 lbs for the wedding.

Oh.. I just named the diet after ME!!!
but I limited my carbs to the morning or in the afternoon when I knew I was doing cardio at the gym later.. I stopped snacking all together and I didn't eat after 8pm (I would have made it earlier, but wirh my schedule, it wasn't possible)..

FH started a diet like this that he made up himself and he lost somewhere between 10-15 pounds since January. He does not eat after 8, limits his portions, only healthy snacking and not a lot of it, and he only drinks water - and ALOT of it. It helps to prevent as much snacking.

Re: Diets

I'm not much of a diet person. when my jeans become a little snug I just pay special attention to what I am eating and how much of it. I admitt I don't eat a lot but what I eat is garbage. I have a serious sweet tooth.

I took a month off from the gym bc I was too busy with work. I usually go 3-4 times a week. I started the gym again Tuesday and went again yesterday and I'm DIEING!!! I can hardly walk, I look like I just got off a mechanical bull!

Re: Diets

Im not really on a diet since this is how I will eat for the rest of my life so I guess its more of a lifestyle change (nice weight watchers term for ya). I go to a nutritionist - ive done LA weight loss, done Weight watchers, even tried a few pills and while some did give me some results I never fully was able to maintain the weight loss. So far with the nutrionist Ive lost 22 pounds - the most amount i have ever lost in my life. I plan on loosing another10-15 depending on how I look of course. I thought I could never loose the amount that i wanted since alot is also medical reasons and although its taking me longer than the average person (ive been doing this since september) the results are coming in..... slowly but surely and thats what I really care about.

Good luck!

I completely agree, I needed to rethink the way I eat completely. Not beat myself over having a piece of candy, eating what I want but in small portions, etc. You have GOT to be proud of yourself... 22lbs is amazing!

Athee07- You should be so proud of yourself, especially since medical reasons are making it harder for you.

Re: Diets

well i'm very happy with my body right now and i've been this way pretty much my whole life. i've never really gone up or down more than a few pounds... but for my wedding my concern was just maintaining and shaping. i want to tighten what is there...

so i go to the gym about 3 times a week on average (sometimes 2, sometimes 4)... the only week i take a break is when aunt flo is visiting b/c i am so miserable when i have 'it' that if i push myself to go to the gym i'll just say 'eff it' when i don't have 'it'... i do the ab crunch machine a lot, i tone my arms with free weights a LOT, i do the elliptical to maintain my figure b/c the cardio is awesome and it's low impact so it doesnt hurt my knees (bad knee injury during HS sports)... i try to do a lot of the leg machines they have there, good old fashioned crunches, etc.

i have an instant breakfast in the morning (it's a mix i put in skim milk) and it has vitamins in it, i'm not a big veggie person so that's where i get them from! then i have a nutri-grain bar for lunch OR i have my 'big' meal at lunch (subway, grilled chicken, salad, wraps, etc). so if i have my big meal then i'll have something small for dinner (yogurt, cereal, pick at stuff, etc) if i have just a nutri grain bar or yogurt for lunch then i'll have a good dinner (i love fresh wraps with chicken, onions, peppers, mushrooms in them, or chicken fajitas, or a good burger) i mean, i watch all day so dinner is pretty open for me plus the gym keeps me in shape... but i try to look at it like this: i won't deny myself the things i enjoy b/c then i'll go insane, i eat healthy 90% of the time and when i want a chocolate shake i'll have it-- so the other 10% i allow myself-- then that 10% is picked up by going to the gym and that keeps my metabolism going. i also find its better to pick here and there (good small snacks) then it is to have 3 big meals-- so that's what i try to do and it really lets me eat a lot less (b/c otherwise you are eating food you really dont need) but i dont really realize that i'm eating less, i dont even notice it and i'm rarely 'hungry'.

those are my tips, hope it helps some of you guys!!!!!!!!

Re: Diets

About 6 years ago I went on the Body for Life Diet (it is a book) and lost 40 lbs. It totally changed my eating habits. I highly recommend the book.
