FH and I are both exactly the same...50% Italian, 25% Irish and 25% German. However, our families are complete opposites. My family is loud...very loud! lol His family is more quiet and reserved. There is also a big age difference between his family and mine. His grandparents are turning 90 whereas my grandparents are 67 so that also I guess plays into why our families are different.

Re: Differences in families
My family is loud ltalians and my hubbys side are crazzy wild ecuadorians. Put us together and its one loud crazy party haha. I was surprised how great everyone got along. My hubbys side a lot of family members speak mostly spanish with broken english but we managed. Their family parties are really different from my side. we start our parties earlier and end earlier they start late and party until like 6am dancing all night. They are a lot of fun. My wedding is going to be people dancing ont he dance floor all night!

Re: Differences in families
Our families are totally different. We are predominately Italian and they are German. They are overall totally unaffectionate, incredibly cheap to the point of embarassement, love to give their opinion on things when they aren't asked for it, and need to drink to function.
My family is loud, very affectionate, can be opinionated but knows the appropriate time and place.
I do have to say though that FH blends way better with my family then his...THANK GOD.

Re: Differences in families
I understand how you feel. My family is a bunch of crazy black folks and my FH's is a bunch of loud mouth Puerto Ricans. We both love our families and we have both hung out with each other families and we love everyone..separately! I am also having panic attacks about the two families meeting. I think our parents will be fine its the side families (aunts, uncles, loud annoying cousins) that I am worrying about. But like my FH said, if they start acting up a the wedding, kick them up!!! And the only people who matter are your immediate familites (mom, dad, sister and brothers) and thats only the wedding and events here and there. At the end of the day, its all about you and him!!!

lol, half of Anthony's family doesn't speak English. We're having a bunch of people come in from panama so those people wont meet anyone until the wedding anyway.
His immediate family all speak English. they went to school here but some have mega thick accents and they're mega parties and drinkers. My family really doesn't drink. It's gonna be interesting to say the least!
