Anybody do non-uniform BM dresses? I think I love the idea of my girls getting to choose their dresses (within reason), but I'm a little nervous. Anybody have pictures they can share?? TIA!!

Re: Different Bridesmaid Dresses
if it is the same color and same fabric it looks great. When you go into doing different colors/shades it can look messy and sometimes even your best friends have bad taste that you didn't know about :\

I was thinking of doing the same but it might get too complicated. I guess I will cross that bridge when I get to it.
I heard a few brides on here used impressions.

I keep going back and forth with this one...I originally thought that I would pick the color and the fabric and I would let them pick the style...but now I'm not so sure cause I really do like the way pics look when everyone has the same dress.

I definitely love it! Especially after looking at all the pictures above! I looked at Impressions, but I literally hate that website! I also love the Alfred Sung dresses. My wedding gown is dupioni silk, and the AS dresses are that material also. I just wasn't sure if I should choose like the same neckline or anything.

I thought about this too. It looks both ways but in my opinion looks better when they are all in the same dress. Or moh in long dress and bms in the shorter versions of it but still the same dress. The pics are nice but takes attention away from the bride. Cause the first thing ppl see is wow look at all the diff colors or styles and u are in the middle not the center of attention. And lets be honest we wanna be. Just try and find a dress that most can agree to. I let my girls vote on it. Done deaL

Re: Different Bridesmaid Dresses
My friend got married 9/5 and she had us all pick our dresses. They werent even all the same fabric. Some were chiffon and some were satin. It didnt look messy at all. In fact everyone was happy with their dresses and i really think that it came across in the pictures. Nobody had that 'i cant believe that she made me wear this dress' look. I'm definately a fan of that idea.

I love the pictures the PP posted. My original thought was to put my girls in the same designer, same color, same material, & let them pick the style. But now that I found a dress that I love I will have them wear that.

I chose my the color, material and store. I am having my girls pick any dress they like from J. Crew in Caspian Blue, silk taffeta. They are thrilled to pick the style that they like best. I believe that there are 7 different styles.

I've chose the designer Bill Levkoff, satin, long, eggplant. He has many different dresses in that material and color so I'm letting them figure out which one they feel more comfortable wearing

This is what I was going to do...but everyone ended up liking and agreeing on the same dress so it worked out

I did this! I chose 2 piece Impression black satin dresses. They got to choose any top and any bottom they wanted! Some girls chose the same dress...it was whatever they felt comfortable in!

Re: Different Bridesmaid Dresses
my girls are wearing the Multi-Flirty Convertible dress from Victoria's Secret. The dresses are black and I am letting them wear the dress in whatever styl they want. I love the way it looks bc every dresss is the same, but worn differently to best compliment each bridesmaid.
