Different bridesmaids dresses

Different bridesmaids dresses

I need opinions. I wanted to have all my bridesmaids wear the same dress in the same color but I am kind of having a mixed feeling about how shopping is going to be. They all have different budgets...all different incomes....and I don't want them to be disgruntled about having to buy a dress because I like it for my wedding. What do you all think about bridesmaids wearing different dresses? I am not sure if I would want them to be like different colors or all the same color. I am not completely ruling out different colors because the wedding is in the fall since that is my fav month and my fav thing about that month is that all the leaves are all different colors before they fall. I wanted uniform in the beginning because I thought that it was a wedding and that was more formal but they even did the cool different dress thing in the Sex and the City movie....what are some other opinions on this?

I'm having my girls wear dfferent dresses all from the same company so the color can match. I have seen BM's wear different color dresses and it has looked perfectly fine as long as the colors kind of flow with each other...so i say go for it.

I love this idea. I'm doing different dresses but same color and fabric. This is good because then the girls can choose the style they feel the most comfortable especially since they are all different body types.

I'm doing the same thing too. I think it breaks up the monotony of a larger bridal party too!

I actually prefer different dresses on BMs. I am going to keep the same fabric/color, but I will let them pick what they feel best in!

I actually REALLY love all the girls in different dresses and even different colors, they just need to be complimentary to each other... Like you should decide on a palate that the girls should choose from: Like fall colors, or pastel colors...

I think its a funky idea =))

I've been in a wedding with same designer, same material, same color ,but different dresses and I've also been in a wedding with the same dress in all different colors. Both looked nice. I think for fall actually it could be really pretty with gold, orange, brown, deep red... very pretty and different

I am thinking of creating a color palette for the bridesmaids so they will all be in different dresses and different colors. My wedding is in the fall so I can pick four different fall colors and have them each wear a different one. This way all of the colors can compliment each girl. The only thing I really really want is tea length. I will stress straps but really as long as they are happy then its all good with me. I will be giving them DOJ so that will be the same for each girl....that can help pull their look together.

I think that sounds wonderful! I wanted to do different dresses but it actually came out easier in the end to do one dress because each girl wanted me to a pick a dress for her because they didn't know what to pick themselves... but if it works for your BMS I say go for it! Its a really fun, modern approach to weddings. I definitly think set guidelines (length, maybe material, etc.) otherwise go for it.

I gave my girls a choice of like 4 different dresses and they all picked the same one! Except one! And my little jbm I chose her gown, she's the only one in floor length. They were in green and purple. I chose the color for the most part, but based it on their wishes. Everyone was happy!! Here's a pic!

ETA: The one girl with the corsage leaning in is my reader. She didn't have bm dress, but her dress ended up looking great in the pics!

Re: Different bridesmaids dresses

my moh will be wearing a different color any style dress from my bm.

the bm get to choose what ever dress they want.

i did ask that it be from the same designer same color and fabric.

but that can change.
my moh has so many ideas. she might like the satc vibe and want everyone to wear a different color. lol

I think you should at least go with the same color. Different colors will cause too much traffic, especially when they clash with each other and/or you. You don't want everyone's eyes being all over, you want them to be on you.

I'm having my bridesmaids wear different dresses but in the same color. There were a bunch of dresses I liked so instead of choosing one and making them buy it, I figured I'd let them choose whatever they wanted. I know that everyone looks good in different things, and I'm more concerned about them being comfortable than anything. I think different dresses is fun and different.

Re: Different bridesmaids dresses

My bridal party are all different sizes... so I was not planning on them ALL wearing the same dress, and it looking great on everyone.

Originally, I had looked into a line that had separates, that way each girl could have the same skirt, with different tops. I have my MOH, one BM, and one JrBM. The separates idea was tossed aside once we found complementing dresses from another line!! My MOH will have a slightly different dress than the BM and JrBM, and though the BM and JrBM will have the same dress, Jr's will be different because hers will have crisscrossed straps, while BM's is strapless.

Re: Different bridesmaids dresses

My BMs are wearing a strapless, full-length dress in chiffon and my MOH is wearing a short shiffon sleeveless dress. She's got bosoms for days so she wasn't going to look good in a strapless dress.

They are all going to wear the same color though.
