Anyone have any cute, original ideas for collecting the cards during the reception? I don't really want to do the typical birdcage or decorated mailbox...and I also don't want to walk around with a bag..or make soemone else responsible for doing that.? TIA!!
I bought a decorative box in Michaels that was similar in color and design to the fall theme of my wedding. My RH just put it on a table next to the cupcake cake.

i've seen on here- girls who took plain boxes- stacked them to look like a present and covered them with fabric and it looked amazing!- i'll look for some pics for you. ok edited to add pics
I am using a decorative suitcase, kinda looks like a hat box but it has silver handle. They have a ton of stuff at A.C. Moore. Some really nice hat boxes as well. My father is making a slot for the envelopes with an exacto knife.

I love this one personally. I have seen them a lot on here but never personally at a wedding so I think some of my guests will be really fascinated by something like this that I am going to create.
i kinda think that a picnic basket would be kinda cute. FH proposed to me during a small romantic picnic, so that woulda been a nice idea, had it come to me earlier.
Because it's a Christmas Wedding, I was originally gonna do a big red stocking to hang over the fireplace at the hall (which is right behind our private table). But then I got nervous with that idea. Too many horror stories of people stealing cards. I know my guests wouldn't do such a thing, but it's not as tho I know the staff & waiters personally. So better safe than sorry. I'm going with something more regular - boxes piled resembling Christmas gifts. I needed something not easily broken into.

We had a photo cube for cards and it spun around.
