Does your camera have a huge delay from the time you press the shutter to the time the actual pic is taken? I have a Nikon Coolpix 885 and this flaw is driving me nuts lately. We took it to a wedding and were completely unable to capture any of the special moments because of this delay.
I've tried playing with the settings and even when I can speed up the shutter speed it doesn't work right. Does your camera do this? Is it all digital cameras that do this?
Also, lately, the color is all off... reds come up fuschia, sometimes the pic is completely white-d out... all of these are recent problems (except for the shutter lag) and I'm wondering if it's fixable, if it's just this particular camera or brand, and if I should bother trying to get it fixed or buy a new one.
Also, tell me what kind you have and if you like it.

mine has a delay, enough of one that people have to be told to stay still till the flash goes off

all digital cameras have a delay. but some are much better than others. when buying a camera you should usually be able to find this stat listed along with all the other ones like how many megapixels and stuff. so the only way to fix that is buy a new camera.
as for the color, no idea. do they show up wrong when you upload them too?

I have a Fuji FinePix s3000. I also find that there's a delay, and I often miss spontaneous moments. However, I have learned to compensate a great deal in the months I've had the camera. For example, at a wedding, I hit the shutter when the bride is a little further up the aisle than I want to her to be in my picture.
Other than that, I have no complaints. I have a 6x optical zoom on my camera, which I love!

10x OPTICAL? Holy S--- !!!
How long/big is your lens? Are you sure its 10x optical... or is it like 3x optical and 10x digital?

Okay, you're absolutely right..i screwed up! I'm sick today, and my head feels like it's floating above my body somewhere. I have a 6x optical zoom, not a 10x....I forget what the digital zoom is b/c I never use it.

Yep... now people's skin colors are starting to turn up way more pink than they should be.
I got accustomed to the delay too but now I'm sick of it. My camera is only two years old but I bet the technology on that has gotten much better and I probably don't have to deal with such a long delay.
