ok ladies..im looking to purchase a digital slr camera with the christmas money from my students..
Ive looked into the nikon d3000 or d40..im guessing the d3000 is a lil better? does any one have it, was it difficult to figure out?
any others i should look into?

are u looking only into Nikons???? Have u looked you looked into Canons DSLR??? they have so good ones also!

I have the Nikon D40... I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But if youre going to get a new one now you might as well get the new one in the Ashton Kutcher commercial... the D5000 or something like that... its got video and the swivel screen... it looks super cool

I would get a Canon. Canon makes some of the best cameras out there.
FH put this one on our registry.....which someone recently bought.......can't wait to find out who

FH will be purchasing one before the honeymoon. not sure which but i overheard him telling his friend that he was going to get a Canon because the lenses are interchangeable.
he currently has a Canon Rebel that he got for junior high graduation in 1996 . yes we still get film developed . his friend has the same one with this super high power lens.
so if you have a Canon lens or know someone who does (who will let you borrow it) you may want to purchase a Canon.

I hate Canon, i will never buy a Canon again. I think Nikon is 100x better... I would say go to B&H and play around with the cameras there and see what you like better... They are very easy to use!
