Dilema!!!!!!!!

What do I do? Please help!

I used to work with a girl we were friends, not hang out buddies, just work friends and we would always talk about life, men, family, etc...

I haven't seen her in about 1 1/2 yrs, but we email every so often.

She knew I was getting married, but just sent me an email saying how hurt she is that she didn't make the cut to come to m y wedding. I feel horrible...what do I say? We were just work buddies, and I didn't think twice about it...you girls know how hard it is to make your weddng list....what do I do? How do I respond?

Re: Dilema!!!!!!!!

First off it was really rude of her to even say anything to you...Some people just have no manners. Just explain to her that with the way the economy is you decided to keep your guest list to immediate family and super close friends only...She cant say anything about that...

Wow, um that's quite obnoxious.

I agree with Gaby. Just tell her you're trying to keep the guest list down and you're keeping it at close friends and family.

I know...I was totally taken back....I was quite surprised...is it rude to say there is a list B?

You don't have to explain yourself to her. She has some nerve emailing you that. What did she thik she would accomplish by doing that?? Rudy McRude!!

Re: Dilema!!!!!!!!

First of all, I HATE how people think weddings are like house parties. I would definitely say what the others have mentioned above. If I were you, this would really annoy me and I wouldn't even consider putting this person on a 'B' list. I think that they will find that insulting and the fact that they came out and put you in an uncomfortable position is very wrong.

Exactly....people just don't realize....this may ruin our friendship...but we never so one another often anyways.

That is nervy!!! I don't plan on inviting old friends of mine if I haven't talked to them in a few years.

Re: Dilema!!!!!!!!

I would tell her that you and your FH are just having close family and friends since you're on a tight budget.

she'll understand when she gets married or if she ever does...she is 37 and single...she was a co-worker of mine.

Re: Dilema!!!!!!!!

Yeah, she should not have said that to you. Who says that. I agree, just tell her you want to keep your guest list small. Come on, weddings aren't cheap that you can invite everyone and their mother.

its just aggrevating...I never thought I would be the one to get a nasty email....hahaha! Who was I kidding.

I told my second cousins that they were on list B... I'm not going to get into that story, because I posted it elsewhere and i think everyone read it.. lol

if you WANT to invite her simply say that only half the invitations went out and hers is in batch 2.
OR just tell her that you had a max and its family and close close close friends.

Re: Dilema!!!!!!!!

For an old friend or someone I am unsure of, I ask myself 'would I be invited to her wedding?' It sounds like she wouldn't invite you to hers, since she is single and is not planning an upcoming wedding, and by the time she gets married (if she chooses to) it will be even longer since you guys last talked.

Re: Dilema!!!!!!!!

Just say you are also sad you could not invite her because you wanted as many people as possible to share in your special day. But due to the cost of a wedding these days you are limiting it family and close friends.

And then say since she is so rude to ask why she wasn't invited, you are glad you didn't invite such a petty person!

Ha - just kidding about the last part.

I cannot believe some people have the nerve to ask that!

HAHA! That was good. I actually emailed her back and told her actually the truth as to why she wasn't invited and she responded very nicely....she was very mature about it.

Re: Dilema!!!!!!!!

i have to agree with the other girls who said that it was just plain WRONG of her to even bring it up. I had a pretty close family friend not invite ME to her wedding a few years back, and yes i was hurt by that, but I never made a big deal out of it. I just assumed it was due to money and that she just needed to cut the list. It's sooo wrong to make a bride feel bad about it.

I had to keep my list smaller than i would have liked also. I got confronted on it by my grandmother who was disturbed that i was not inviting some of my long distance cousins who I barely even know. I simply explained to her that I cannot afford a huge wedding and the list HAS to be kept down to only very close, personal family & friends. So the people that I haven't even spoken to or seen in at least the last 2 years just can't be invited. As simple as that. I would have NEVER been able to afford inviting everybody in my life (as much as i would have loved to have had them all there)
