Re: DILEMMA!!

maybe she could do a reading?

if shes your fh's daughter then the 'right' thing to do would ask her to be in bp...
maybe she can wear long gloves or a shawl to match the dress and cover the tatoo, so you dont see it in pictureS?

No matter what either child looks like they should be including in the wedding. You are not only marrying the father but marrying into the family. If you don't have them in the wedding party maybe they can both walk their father down the isle to start the wedding procession.

I honestly think it would be rude and insulting to his children not to include them.

I think you should definetly have her in your BP. I am a little upset to hear that you don't want her in because of her size and tattoo. I have heavier bridesmaids and there weight never was an issue for me. And my cousin has a big butterfly tattoo on her chest that is going to show. I don't care. I am just glad that they will be there with me. As for the size of the BP, what's one more? I would feel so hurt if my brother was asked to be in the wedding and not me!!

i understand you do not want a lerge BP, but she will be your step daughter and you do not want to start off on the wrong foot. Ask her if she wants to be in it. she may surprise you and tell you 'no' if she says yes then you should accommodate her. since you are having an Oct wedding maybe your BM can wear a shawl that will cover up the tatoo. as far as the weight is concerned not everyone can be a size 10 or smaller. you may have to suck it up this is your FH wedding also and he has a voice in the planning, too.

i really cant believe you would exclude her because of size - i think you are being super shallow
i am having people in my bp with tattoos - they have makeup to cover that stuff now a days - and my photographer said he could cover up anything in post production that happened to show up
i think you will really hurt her if you dont include her - and i think your fh would be upset if he ever found out why
i just cant believe what i am hearing here -
not saying anything else - just too upset

TO EVERYONE : I'm going to include my fh's daughter in my bridal party....I know in my heart it's the right thing to do and now I can't wait to see her and tell her! (I spoke to my fh about it and he's very happy with my decision.)

I was reluctant to share my feelings about this - I realize how sensitive a subject this is. I just couldn't shake the thoughts I was having and really needed to hear your feedback.

That's why this is such a great 'sounding board' - we can express our innermost feelings and get honest advice....even if it hurts.....

JMO-WHEN CHOOSING A BRIDESMAID YOU SHOULD PICK SOMEONE YOU CARE ABOUT AND WANT TO BE A PART OF YOUR WEDDING REGARDLESS WHAT YOUR PICS ARE GOING TO LOOK LIKE

Leslie,
I'm glad you decided to include your stepdaughter. I think it will do a lot for your relationship and your future as a family. Its good that you asked this question and made what I feel is the right decision. It's helps to get the negative thoughts out. Don't feel too bad, the LIW ladies will stop yelling at you soon.
