FH's cousin from CA is in the BP. he & his wife just had a baby 2 months ago.
his in laws were supposed to drive to NY from PA to watch the little one while he and his wife were at the wedding.
So now we hear that his in laws may not be able to come to NY to watch the baby and consequently, they may not be able to come to the wedding another reason is that his cousin & wife are kind of broke.
so should FH tell him that he's already asked his boss's daughter if she would baby-sit the baby and she said ok? it could be an issue of pride regarding them not having the $ to come here.

Re: Dilemma
You may want to suggest that you could arrange a reliable person to watch the baby and leave it up to them. I wouldn't tell them you asked someone already.
If it's a matter of money, can the family help out?

I even said that I would fly him in.... but they would never take the $. I think that at minimum, his cousin will come without his wife & the baby.
My FH asked me if I would mind if the babysitter watched the baby in the bridal suite - since his cousin doesn't know this girl from atom. I guess I would be ok with it... I really want them to come!! but again, it could be an issue of money.

I would give them options and see what they say. I would make it clear that you will do whatever you can to help make it possible to be there.

Re: Dilemma
I would not have her watch him in the bridal suite. Don't get out of hand with this. Make the offer and leave it at that.

why not? if it meant they would be more comfortable knowing that their baby was just a moment away.... aside from freshening up, I don't see myself spending a lot of time in there. the bathroom isn't even in the suite. they have 3 suites and there is 1 bathroom down the hall for the suites to share.
maybe I could even ask the hall if they would allow us to use another one of the suites - assuming they're available.

Re: Dilemma
I don't think the issue is the baby being a moment away. It's about her parents not being able to come to NY to watch the baby. The babysitter can watch the baby at your parents house..etc..wherever.

Re: Dilemma
I would definitely offer the bridal suite for babysitting purposes. My niece will be 2 months old at my wedding and she will be watched by my bil's parents and my sister and her husband...all switching off. If it's for money reasons though, they really just might not be able to swing it.
