dilemma about moh updated 10/11

well when we first got engaged i knew exactely who i wanted for my moh..but since then i have been thinking that someone else has been more supportive of the wedding and has been more excited about everything..the first person didn't have a wedding with all the 'bells and whistles' because she was pregnant with their second child and i'm starting to feel like she is too jealous to be happy for me..ie: she keeps saying 'i hate weddings at halls because they always rush you out.' or 'i could care less about flowers, they're just going to die the next day.' but the problem with the other person that i would love to have as my moh is that she lives upstate and i think it would be too hard for her to really be involved although she's been great over the phone and email so far..i just don't know who to pick..please help..sorry it was so long!!

You have to ask yourself this question....
Would you rather have someone who supports you and your wedding... Or would you rather have someone run errands with you?

I don't know.... to me the choice is clear.
Who you have in your BP is one of the most important decisions you will make for your wedding.

My sister lives in florida. I asked her to be my Matron My sister has yet to see me since the engagement and she has been soooooo supportive. We call each other, she sends me stuff and she emails me tons of pics. At first I was hesitant because I have a best friend that lives in brooklyn that I was giong to ask. Now I know I made the right decision because I barely hear from my friend in brooklyn, but my sister is always there for me.
As harsh as this is going to sound, I say go with your friend from upstate. I know it will be hard to do things on your own since neither of them will be available, but at least one will be there for moral support.

my moh lives in california...she's been great...she was out here when i got my dress...helped pick out the girls dresses and was here when i got my tiara and veil...she emails me pictures, and has been great...even her mom has been the best...

ask who you feel would be the best for you. my other bridesmaid lives here and really hasn't helped with much at all.

I think you made the right decision. My MOH lives in Mass. and has an infant daughter. We are lucky if we get together twice a year but she has been my best friend for 20 years. she is the only member of my bridal party. I have no one to run errands for me... no mom, no sisters, all friends here have families and are too busy taking care of little ones.

Your friendship, not local, should make the decision.

I say go with both - it sounds like they are both very important to you and both would be honored to be part of your day.

I am having my sister as matron of honor and my god-daughter (her daughter) as my maid of honor. My girlfriend whom I asked to be in my bridal party has not seem very interested so far. I only wanted my sister and my nieces and nephew as my BP. This is YOUR wedding, so if you want a maid and a matron, go for it. My maid of honor will be 11 at the time of my wedding!
