Dilemma with flower girl

Dilemma with flower girl

My FH and I decided not to have children at our wedding besides the ring bearer and flower girl. We are having his nephew as our ring bearer. I wanted to ask one of my friends who is in my bridal party if her daughter wanted to be our flower girl. The dilemma is that she will want to bring her other child along.. I don't know what to do?
My only other option is to ask one of my FH friends daughter to be our flower girl..
I don't know what I should do?
Any suggestions???

I think you have 2 options: don't invite the ring bearer/flower girl to the reception. Have them at the ceremony only. Or, explain to your friend that her daughter is being invited under special circumstances and if the other child comes along it will raise questions among the other guests who had to get sitters. Look at it this way....if you don't have this specific flower girl, the mom will have to get a sitter anyway.

I had the same situation. I felt bad having one kid and not the other so I invited both. People can complain about their kids not being invited if they want!

I had this argument with fmil. My cousin is my ring boy and he has a sister. If I didn't invite other kids in my family (which was never an option but what fmil wanted) I wouls have had to invite his sister.

This is a dilemma for sure! I am thinking if you dont invite the other child, even if the mother completely understands, the other child may be extremely upset at being left out, even it is just the ceremony, causing all sorts of household drama. We managed to avoid this by having 2 ring bearers and 3 flower girls, which is admittedly a bit over the top!
Is the other child very young? Could you get the other child a special treat for being a trooper?
I dont have kids or know much about them, but I sure do remember turning into a screeching terror when I got left out of a wedding!

This is what I was thinking! I could never invite one & not the other UNLESS the other child was an infant

I had the same issue with fmil... I've decided to just open it up to all the kids so no one feels left out. I remember going to my older cousins weddings so fondly that, ultimately, I think it will be nice to have them all there.

I'm just throwing this out there.. but what if you didn't have a ring bearer or flower girl? This way you wouldn't have to worry about the issue and you wouldn't have any children.

I would just ask her to have her daughter as the flower girl & leave it at that. If she mentions to you about the other child you can kindly say I hope you understand but were not having any children. Except for the ones that are in the bridal party. Most people don't want to chase after 2 kids at a wedding anyway. Hopefully she will understand.

my god daughter is my junior bridesmiad bc she will be 11 by the time we get married, she has 2 sibling ( who are my cousins) my aunt totally understand I can't afford all her kids only my god daughter! u should nut have to explain your self when she asks the answer is no!
personally I think making a parent buy a flower girl dress for the kid and her not being invited to the reception is not right. but that is my opinion you are intitled to your own!

my cousin had my other cousin's twins in her bridal party, but they did not come to the reception. All of my cousins with little kids got a babysitter to stay in a hotel room with them for the night, so they all hungout and watched movies while the adults were at the wedding... maybe you can just have the ring bearer and flower girl at the church and for pictures, and then ask that your friend arranges for a babysitter for her kids that night

This is exactly what we did. All immediate family kids are in the wedding, but that's it. Otherwise, we feel would have to allow all kids or no kids.

Frank Ahn, LeSean Rowe (I randomly found him, he seems newer but really good quality!)
