Well im going in to the city for a NYRanger game on 12/23 and Fh and I want to go see the tree and go to dinner before that. can anyone tell me what is a good place to eat near that place. My fh only eats ital. and chnx.

well there is carmines but depending what day of the week it can get pretty packed, theres also tony dinapoli's which is real good. Its not RIGHT next to the tree but still close by, you can take the train there before or after its a train stop away...but i have made that walk many times so just depends if youre in the mood to walk

My vote is for Carmine's. U can also eat at the bar. It is our favorite restaurant.

sometimes its soooo packed though, especially now with all the tourists...the bar too can be so uncomfortable, theres tons of people just crowded around you waiting for a table, the bar is ok for apps but once they bring your HUGE plates lol...but if you go early its not bad
They're both a few blocks apart so you can check both out to see which one you don't have to wait long for

Theres also a very good italian restaurant called 'vagabondo's' its closer to where bloomingdales is so not that far from the tree and its ALOT more calm where the restaurant is. The food is very good and on the side they have a baci ball ring for ppl to play

there is an Italian restuarant called ALfredos right by the tree... I got there all the time (FH designed it so I am biased)
