Dinner with Our Priest- Long but worth it!

Dinner with Our Priest- Long but worth it!

So.....Fh works in Conneticut., and he was running extremely late., and we were rushing we DID NOT want to be late., so we are in the car taking short cuts., and I look over to my right and the priest is in the car next to us..it was hilarious.....so FH drove super fast and we got there before him thank god.

The preist was a DELITE., the bill came to 200, not bad at all., everyone over - exagerrated big time., he went over a few things that were SO GREAT to hear from him...: I want to share

He said there is 4 levels of attraction.

-Physical
-Intellectual
-Emotional
-Spiritual (where we should be)

He said that in a marriage there should be compromise but at no point should feel like SURRENDER.,, that after marriage its not longer 'I' but it is about 'WE', and we must think when how things will benefit 'US', if something is good for 'US', no longer I.

He said DO NOT TAKE ANY ADVICE FROM FRIENDS, COWORKERS, AND FAMILY**worst. They will tell you they have been through marriage time and time again , and dont trust your husband, or dont 'GO THROUGH WITH IT', DONT LISTEN TO THIS., They are the ones who failed at their marriage., they are to blame for their failure.
Your marriage is UNIQUE in its own. LISTENING TO THOSE WHO FOOL YOU WITH FALSE ADVICE WILL LEAD TO MISTRUST and SUSPICION., which is the disease of marriage.

He said a bad Marriage filled with lies and cheating is like a nail hammered into the wall, the nail creates many cracks and you can plaster the nail but it would never be the same. DO NOT CREATE CRACKS IN YOUR MARRIAGE.

He also said that we will always face times where works stresses us out or you had a bad day and ur husband walks through the door and u can tell by his eyes this is not gonna be a good night...TALK ABOUT IT. Dont let it fester., COMMUNICATE and get things OFF YOUR CHEST. THE EYES ARE THE WINDOW TO THE SOUL and you can read each other., if you both see saddness in each other talk about it and brush it off.

THERE WAS A COUPLE NEXT TO US THAT HE HAPPENED TO HAVE MARRIED YEARS AGO., the woman had cancer and they both wanted children so badly but cannot have them , he said DO NOT PLAN., let god give you blessings, let nature take its course......so many couples have come to him to complain that they held off to plan, pay off mortgage, 'they needed time for themselves' and they are having trouble now because of the stresses in their life.

He said that if you go to low- income neighborhoods they are popping out babies like animals...because they dont have the stresses of the working class., the ones with the mortgage of their heads., and the car payments., STRESS STRESS STRESS....

Our lifestyle may not allow us to conceive like them..Love each other and leave your 'GRAFFITTI' IN THIS WORLD....GRAFFITII ARE YOUR CHILDREN AND YOUR CHILDRENS CHILDRENS WHICH WOULD BE A MIRACLE TO SEE.

I hope this touches some of you as it did me

Wow! It sounds like it went really well. The things he said are so true and really makes you think about what marriage is really all about. I'm glad you had a good time! You're getting married!!!!

That was very touching! My (catholic) priest has had many words of wisdom for us during our pre-cana meetings, but I could never remember them all, no less repeat them as nicely as you did! Thanks for that!

Thank you for sharing Lisa.

It is very similiar to what we discuss in Pre-Cana -- only you get to do it over a nice dinner and we go for 6 weeks.

It is definately something to refer back to every once in a while!

Glad you enjoyed yourself!
