Anyone have? Anyone wish they didn't? DH wants to get it when we move instead of cable. I was wondering everyone's opinions.

had it in NY, can't have it in the apt, but will get it again when we move into the house!!
We also have TiVo and can't live without it!! I miss my DirectTv and Tivo!!!

We have it and I totally love it. I also have TIVO and I don't know how I lived without it. I am so much happier then I ever was with cable.

The only time I didn't like it was when we had a bad snow storm and the snow piled up on the dish and the satellite went out, so I stood outside for 20 minutes throwing snowballs at the darn thing!!

have it with TIVO I was very very very ANTI getting it- I LOVE it !!! It's also so much cheaper than cable. If you do it through verizon and get DSL too they had (might still have a packet) and we got a rebate each month for the DirectTV

We have it and LOVE it. We would never go back to cable, it is so much more expensive. We have it with TIVO and absolutely love it.

We got Direct TV not because we wanted, but because our cable company s ux!!!! We're so glad we got it though. We love Direct TV! We have Tivo too. Now I can watch Oprah every day and also rewind live tv if I miss something. So cool!

DirectTV kinda ***** because of lack of Hi-Definition content.
Cable is expensive... but worth it. They have tons of hi-definition channels available. Plus they have DVR... and they have Hi-Definition DVR that you can rent for $9 buks a month.
To buy a Hi-Definition Tivo... expect to pay like $800 buks. Blah.
If I ever move out to Long Island... i'll get my cable free thanks to my FW's job.

100% agreed, plus, in bad weather, you may lose service
cable rarely goes out

Direct TV will be coming out with a whole bunch of HD channels. When that happens, the HD DVR price will most likely drop. Right now it's $1000 (we just got our non-HD unit - didn't want to pay the $1k!)
