Invitations are in and I just picked up the paper to make my own directions/hotel/parking info cards. The cards are darker (ecru) than the invite (cream). Is this okay or are they supposed to be the same color?

Mine are not the same color, I got them from the Westbury Manor.

I had mine made where I had the invitations done so they matched, but honestly I don't think it really matters.

Re: Direction Cards for Invititations
WARNING!! I printed my own direction cards on my printer, I worked so hard at it, and they looked very nice. The ink was more than dry, I stuffed the invites about a week after printing the directions. Somehow, because of the machines at the post office or who knows what, the ink from the direction cards was transposed onto my invites! (I could have avoided this by placing the tissue in between the two, but that's not where I put the tissue....I was heartbroken when I saw my invites at peoples houses and they were 'dirty'! I still get upset when I think about it.

Re: Direction Cards for Invititations
I think it's fine for the papers not to match, since it's normal to get the direction cards from the hall. My cards were very hard to read, so I had my printer re-create them, so when they did they were printed on the same color paper as my invites. The typesetting and ink color was different though - no ones really paying that close attention though, trust me!

Re: Direction Cards for Invititations
Thanks for all the feedback. I will just continue printing the cards. The type and color are different, but I am hoping people won't care.
JPSGIRL thanks for the warning, there will be tissue in between.

Mine match identical. I had them done at the same place.

Re: Direction Cards for Invititations
I like when things match or coordinate exactly but its not a big deal if you dont. What I suggest is using the same fonts and design style for the direction cards - that way even though the paper doesnt match, it wont stick out like an afterthought.

Re: Direction Cards for Invititations
I don't think people will notice. Honestly, I'm just using the ones from the hall. I don't think it absolutely has to match. Come to think of it, mine don't match at all. But if you want to match and you're off by a hint of color, I think you'll be just fine. Don't worry so much about it

Re: Direction Cards for Invititations
OMG jpsgirl - the same thing happened to me! I was DEVASTATED! I cried most of the day on Valentine's day when I found out and now I am just avoiding altogether. There's a million things I would have done differently now - either used tissue paper, or put the cards BEHIND the invite regardless of what Crane's says......
