we booked john a year ago. after we signed the contract & made our deposit we haven't contacted him & vice versa.
now that we're getting close to the wedding, i would like to have a meeting with him to discuss timing, specific shots, and the album. i've called three or four times in the past month. its always the machine & he hasn't called back.
we are planning from NJ & can only come to LI on specific dates due to our jobs. we really needed to meet with him tomorrow when we're on LI.
i can't believe this. i am very very p-i-s-s-e-d right now.
has anyone else had problems with him?

I have to agree about being able to reach them it is never easy and since you arent in the area it must be even more frustrating, just leave a message and he will call you back but I hear ya definetly.

I was in the same situation only planning from Dallas, so when I needed to meet with him, I needed to meet with him! I would just constantly call and reiterate to him that I lived in Texas and he needed to return my calls. Frustrating, yes! But eventually he called me back!

olgaki, thats what FH said. but i put my first call into him a month ago. and two or three since then.
i didn't think a wedding photographer would go on a long vacation in the height of the wedding season.
who knows...

Problems with VIP
I know what you mean. That has been frustrating. What I've done sometimes is to send him a fax detailing whatever it is you need to discuss with him. If you have a list of must-have pictures, or schedule for the day - go ahead and fax it to him. That way you have conveyed what you want to him. When I've called and left a message for a call back. He usually makes return calls around 6pm.

i left a message for him the other day and he didnt return the call but my FH called him yesterday around 5 or so and he actually picked up! so he isn't away on vacation. keep calling...

That's annoying! We are using him also but have been lucky to reach him most of the time. I would definitely leave message after message and he will get your point and call back. I feel bad you are being inconvienced
