I found out a while ago that b/c i found out about my original shower....my mom was trying to throw my a surprise shower on li (b/c my first was in alb). so i didnt say n e thing to anyone, b/c i was touched they were doing this for me. So i have been secretly VERY excited for about 2 months. WELL.....I came to LI tonight and made sure I had nice clothes etc. and then in convo with my mom, she mentions, oh i was going to havea surprise shower for you here on LI but barely anyone was going to come so she cancelled it :(
Im so sad...i have been looking forward to this and now, not only is it not happening, but its not happening b/c no ones cares enough to come celebrate with me. DOnt get me wrong...I LOOOVED my shower in Albany and was surounded by so many people, and i know i should be happy i had such a great experience...but
wow...what a let down

I know you probably feel like no one cares enough, but they do! Your mom is incredible for trying to do this. It just may have been short notice or that people couldn't get their schedules cleared. Sweetie, you're awesome and so very loved!

oh Lynn, I am sorry. that IS disappointing. please don't take it like no one cared enough...there may have been timing issues etc...

I know exactly how you feel. My FMIL told me that her family and FFIL's family would not want to come to LI for a shower for me because I'm not worth it (exact words too!), so my mother and MOH are throwing me a shower in Buffalo where my mother's family is located.
