So I finally decide to just buy the dress I loved since september and have been comparing every other dress I have tried on since then to.....I walk into Monica Bridal in Brooklyn...I ask to try on my dress one more time to make sure I still love it and they tell me that it is discontinued. I start to ask questions and place blame...(I was with my godmother who is purchasing) . I ask them the name of the designer of the dress. When I had last tried on the dress, the store was closing and I didnt get a chance to look at the designer 's name. So since I didnt want to try on anything else, they decided to say that they cant pull up the dress and that it isno longer in the system but when the owner comes back from vacation, they can order it for me sight unseen. How can they order something that they dont know the name of huh... I left sadly disappointed.

if you can get a picture of it you may be able to get a seamstress to custom make it.

I'm sorry to hear that the dress you love has been discontinued. I know how you feel because the same thing happened to me except I didn't get to try it on before they discontinued it. It was my FAV dress and I ended up having to track down a store that still had the sample so that I could try it on and it ended up being my dress.
It's possible that the bridal store knows the name of the designer but doesn't want to tell you because they don't want to you to order it from another store (unfortunately some stores do this and keep the name of designers from customers). If you know it's THE dress you may not be able to get it out of your mind. Maybe you can try to call them to get the name of the designer again and then try to track one down at another store so that you can try it on again. I'm sorry about this because I know it is very disappointing.

Yeah they are being really stingy....I called them this morning to get the model number and the told me that they use their own model number and not the designer so they will not me able to help me

Do you have a picture of it? I'm sure you'll be able to find something similar! At least you're not stuck with that bridal salon either, that's really weird!

Time consuming idea!! go on the stores website and see the list of the designers that they carry at least you can narrow down by the designers the store carries. and then go to each designers website looking for it. You also never know sometimes if someone doesn't know what they are doing or if they are new may give you miss information. maybe its not totally discontinued just they stopped carrying that sample. May be in a week or so go back to the store and look for it.

I agree with the custom dress...my bff did this after missing out on her dream dress and the gown that was made for her looked WAY better than the dress she originally wanted...

I have run into this with a few dresses that I like not love so it wasnt worth it for me to do this but it might work for you. The bridal shops told me if the dress is discontinued but you know its the dress you want to order they can call the manufacture and see where they have stock left and order it for you. Its more work on their part so you have to TELL them to call
