Discouraged...

Discouraged...

FH and I knew we wanted fun, relaxation, good food, warmth, etc. for our HM. We talked to Tom and he was very helpful but I was literally sick worrying about where to go and we took a break. FH priced 3 resorts Tom recommended with his company's TA and here I am, sick again....

I don't LOVE anywhere...I don't want to go broke...I need a vacation...and a good one....I deserve it after this year...

I'm so discouraged/stressed/sad...I don't think we'll ever find a place we love and can afford....

I 100% understand how you feel right now....I'm in the same boat with you I just don't know where to go. There are so many GORGEOUS places but I don't want to have to spend a gazillion dollars on our HM Sooo confusing!!!!

Re: Discouraged...

I am soo sorry Colleen. I was in between Hawaii and St. Lucia for our HM. And I was driving myself crazy thinking of which one would be better.

But I figured to go to Hawaii we can stay in regular hotels and go there on our 1 year anniversary trip or something for cheaper than a HM to St. Lucia. Since St. Lucia we can get those great rooms with butler service pools. etc.

But I think you should make a list as to what yuo want in a honeymoon and where you would want to go like actual country place wise...not Sandals, Couples Swept Away etc.

I mean like pros and cons of going on a cruise, going to Italy, going to Jamacia thats what I did it helped a little

But what places did stand out to you ???

It *****...

I loved Royal Hideaway...it's out of our range since winter is a pricey travel time...I was like 'eh' with Excellence...we can afford that but I don't love it...no where close to loving it...I loved El Dorado Royale but heard you get treated like crap if you're not in a casita, which we can't afford....

at this point it's been so stressful I now hate all three places and want to quit...I'm so sad/frustrated!!!!!

I want to go to Mexico or Hawaii...but we would want an all inclusive so it's most likely Mexico...I just don't love anywhere. I am ready to just give in so it's done...I'm that frustrated.

Re: Discouraged...

Colleen I have to admit and not just because I am going there but seeing from past brides going...

St Lucia Sandals resorts look like a lot of fun. They have all the water sports included but extra excursions. Like the rainforest with Ziplining and Horse Back riding or Other wonderful excursions. And it is all inclusive and I heard some great resturants and St. Lucia is definitely a gorgeous beach

Or Sandals in Antigua. FBIL and his wife went their on their HM....great Scuba place and htey said it was wondderful...and they even added more rooms which I heard are gorgeous...

I know what you mean - everyone always asks us 'Where are you going on your HM?' and we have no idea! I want to go someplace beautiful and not spend a million dollars either. It's definitely a tough decision, but you and your FH will find something! Good luck

OOO I wanted to go to Royal Hideaway I was dead set on it. But Sept is hurricane season and I didnt want to risk my honeymoon...so we went with FH's suggestion- St. Lucia.

I know how yuo feel some places I was just not happy with and I wasnt happy with Sandals at first but definitely after researchingit and stuff i did love it

We're paying for this all ourselves...I am not comfortable taking money from my mom now that she's on her own with a huge house, etc. so I really can't go too wild..

Re: Discouraged...

What about taking a short trip after the wedding and doing a bigger trip at another time???

That's what we're doing. We're going to Vegas for a few nights and in May doing our HM since its a better and less expensive time.

Re: Discouraged...

I think one of the problems is we put so much energy in wanting this whole experienc eto be 'perect', but in reality....

Anyhoo i was doing the same thing, finally took on the mentallity of what id do just going a nice vaca w/o the honeymoon title strapped to it, and i think we found a great place for the price.... i kind of want this whole wedding thing to just be over, lol its causing me atleast, alot of anxiety and unnecessary stress, sometimes i think we should have just eloped....

Aww, ...I'm sorry to hear that.

I haven't been stressed with anything BUT the HM...and the turn of events this year both emotionally and financially have wrecked me...I need a break and I want the HM to be GREAT...I need it to be...I need to relax and feel somewhat sane again...I guess that's why this is soooooo hard....
