DISNEY FANATICS...I NEED YOUR HELP....

CAN ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN TO DISNEY WORLD TELL ME WHICH SCENARIO IS BETTER?

1) STAYING ON DISNEY PROPERTY, AND TAKING THE SHUTTLE TRAIN

OR

2) STAYING AT A HOTEL CLOSE TO DISNEY PROPERT (TIMESHARES), AND JUST RENTING A CAR TO GET BACK AND FORTH.

TIA,
Q

The shuttle train is so easy. Everything you need is at the park. You just take the shuttle. Especially, it is so easy to get around the park! It's not the same to not stay at one of the hotels. GO FOR IT!

It's nice to be on Disney property and not have to worry about driving to the parks...but a lot of hotels off Disney property have their own shuttles too.

If you are going to stay off property, I would definitely recommend staying at a hotel that has its own transportation to the parks.

If you want to save money, you can't go wrong with staying off Disney property. But if the money issue isn't really a factor, I'd stay on Disney property - it's a really fun experience!

I've done both and I think staying on site is a little easier. It's nice to have the shuttle and not have to worry about driving. The only thing I found more convenient about having a car was when we needed to run somewhere other than Disney and when we visited Universal and Sea World. It was great to be able to just jump in the car. But if you're just doing Disney, I would go with staying at a Disney prop.

I love staying on Disney property...it just gives you such a more complete feeling to have that Disney thing when you're at your hotel as well as at the parks....its also more convenient if you want to go to one park in the AM go back to the hotel to change/relax and then go to a different park at night

And one park each day is open later to only people who are staying on disney property

And you can also do a meal plan which might help save w/ cost if you are concerned about that

Staying on disney property

It's just less to worry about, I love when I buys something for someone and can send it back to my room.

Definitely stay on Disney property. I have done both and staying on the property is sooooo much easier and convenient. It is worth the extra money for the hotel! And to tell you the truth, the value hotels are really not that badly priced considering. Plus they have early openings or stay open late days for people staying on the Disney property!

There are off premise hotels that offer transportation, but I don't believe they run as frequently as the Disney buses so you kinda would have to work around the hotels transportation schedule - easier than no transportation, but not as easy as Disney transportation!

If you plan on going off the property, you can still look for car rental deals, or you can use the Mears transportation to take you to other parks (Universal or Sea World).

I'll have to agree with everyone else. Staying on Disney property is so easy. They also offer a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and back and you can check in for your flight in the lobby of most hotels. You can save money and not even rent a car!

Any questions let me know, my FH and I are closet Disney freaks.

Stay at Disney its much easier and you don't have to worry about parking. Fh and I stayed at the All Star Music Resort when we went for a wedding and it was not too expensive but was still a beautiful hotel. We took the Disney buses back and forth to the parks. It was much easier then staying in a non Disney hotel and driving. Also we never had to wait long for a bus.

I'm actually leaving for Disney in 5 hours!! I think it's totally worth it to stay on Disney property because you have the buses, and possibly the monorail, right there. I go a lot with my family and we always stay on Disney property and I'm staying on the property this time around too. No headaches, you never have to wait long and they run early in the morning to late into the night.

Plus, FH went to school in Florida and we would drive to Disney sometimes to spend the day when I visited him and even just for one day trying to find parking can be a nightmare, trust me.

HTH!!

Money aside....staying on Disney property is amazing. You get a lot of little perks and they treat you like royalty. All of the hotels are gorgeous and immaculate. Plus, you never have to worry about directions or traffic. YOu can take a bus, a tram, or a boat to anywhere you need to go.
I definetely recommend staying on disney grounds!

Definitely staying in Disney- you get to take advantage of their magic hours- which means on certain mornings you can go earlier than the general public and on certain nights you can stay (I think it's up to 3) hours later than everyone not staying in Disney after the park closes.

We stayed there for part of our honeymoon and absolutely loved every minute of it!!!!

Staying on Disney property is probably better. But just a word of advice, unless you don't mind lots and kids and noise, then don't stay at the value resorts. I love disney and have been there tons of time and for our HM all we wanted to do was sleep in a couple of days and our hotel was sooooo loud we couldn't sleep past 7:30 any morning. Splurge a little go for at least the moderate resorts. HTH.

On the resort. I always love being able to take the shuttle train, or the boats over to the Magic Kingdom. I stayed at resort with no shuttle and it took forever to get back and forth

I recommend staying at a Disney hotel that has the shuttle train that runs right through it and you can go between the hotel and park however many times you'd like in a day.

I agree with the majority. FH and I have been to Disney 3 times in the past two years and we stay on Disney property every time. It's fantastic!

Re: DISNEY FANATICS...I NEED YOUR HELP....

I've done it both ways...

In the park for me is just a better experience because the buses are constantly running so you are able to go back to the hotel if need be or go later in the day. When you stay off Disney you usually have to get on a bus early in the morning that doesn't return until later on that night. But if you rent a car, you won't have that problem.

I just enjoy being in the park.
