DISNEY FANATICS...I NEED YOUR HELP....

CAN ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN TO DISNEY WORLD TELL ME WHICH SCENARIO IS BETTER?

1) STAYING ON DISNEY PROPERTY, AND TAKING THE SHUTTLE TRAIN

OR

2) STAYING AT A HOTEL CLOSE TO DISNEY PROPERT (TIMESHARES), AND JUST RENTING A CAR TO GET BACK AND FORTH.

I have done both ways (actually just came back from disney about 2 hours ago...) we stayed in our time share... but I LOVE staying on Disney property ~ I feel like you get the whole disney feeling the whole vacation when you stay on there property!

Definatley stay on disney property....when we went it made everything so easy....as soon as we got in the hotel we were so excited to be there we got to our room and the serious 10 minutes later got on a bus to go to mgm...didnt have to worry about driving...plus if u want to go to downtown disney and drink u dont have to worry about driving home....Its so worth it and u can take the shuttle whenever there is usually one every 15 -30 minutes based on the hotel.....We stayed in the allstars and pop centry..

we went in July for our HM....IMO staying at a Disney Property (pref one on the monorail) is the way to go. We stayed at the Grand FLoridian and it was awesome to just walk over to the monorail everyday and go to the park

The shuttle train is so easy. Everything you need is at the park. You just take the shuttle. Especially, it is so easy to get around the park! It's not the same to not stay at one of the hotels. GO FOR IT![/QUOTE

we stayed at a disney hotel and rented a car... let me tell you, it's waaay easier just to take shuttles than worry about driving around. but it was nice to have the car for places like universal or seaworld which were a bit further away. if i had the choice, i'd stay on site.

Staying in a hotel and taking the shuttle is so much fun!!! I loved it!

Plus, all the hotels make you feel like your staying in disney!!!

we stayed on disney property but we rented a car. we used their transportation to get to the parks, but we went to universal and to visit a friend of dh so we needed a car.

but if you must choose one option, i'd say stay on disney property.

I'd done both. If you just going to Disney, I would stay on Disney property. It's just easier. If you are planning on doing non Disney things you can always rent a car. A lot of the hotels have the rental cars on site.
