Disney Honeymoon

Disney Lovers

Please tell me your must visit place/ride at Disney. I haven't been since I was 10 and FH has never gone. So we need a little guidance here. I have the 09 unofficial guide. However, I want to be a dork and have my notes for the trip. Any info would be great. Fireworks? Where and When? Best place for quick breakfast? Lunch? Made dinner reservations already. What to do at night? TIA!!!!!!!

FH and I went last year I had the unofficial guide because it is so dead on that you don't need anything else! There are a bunch of new rides that you will love! For breakfast we just kind of grabbed something and for lunch we would just get a snack and dinner we had reservations. One night we went to Fort Wilderness and ate at this buffet and it was FABULOUS! Nothing fancy but the food was great! Planet Hollywood has great ribs! You will have a great time! As for night entertainment we were exhausted because I am a speed demon going through the parks. We went to DTD and walked around. We contemplated going to Pleasure Island but FH doesn't like to dance. You will have a great time!

Ooh tough.

Fireworks - go to Reflections of Earth Illuminations at Epcot. Try to see if you can get on the boat to see them, you have to make reservations. You will have to look up the times because they vary depending on the time of year, but its usually late and after dark, towards closing.

Also Magic Kingdom has fireworks over the castle. My favorite place to view them is from the Calfornia Grill at the Contemporary.

Rides - if you like fun, fast rides... Test Track (Epcot), Everest (Animal Kingdom), Tower of Terror and Rock and Roll Roller Coaster (MGM)

Shows - I know you made dinner reservations already but for a great dinner show that will probably get you into the action go see the Hoop Dee Doo Review at Fort Wilderness. Dinner is fried chicken and the appropriate sides, but the show is so cute.

Quick Breakfast - depends on where your staying and where your going. But in Epcot there is a bakery in France that is to die for.

Lunch - EPCOT!!!! The countries have the best food. But in the other parks each park has great places to eat and mediocre places. Best thing to do is consult the guide book. I think the best in Magic Kingdom is in Frontier Land. In Animal Kingdom I remember its by the African Village.

Definitely ride Everest in Animal Kingdom and Rock N Rolll Roller Coaster in MGM/Hollywood Studios.

As far as breakfast goes, it really depends on where you're staying. All of the disney hotels have a sit down and a quick serve place for breakfast. Food service for all meals in Disney is especially quick. They want you in and out to enjoy the parks and spend money at the gift stores!

Definitely see Spectro Magic in the Magic Kingdom (the old Main Street Electrical Parade) - it makes you feel like a kid again. I always view it at the very end of the parade route - in front of Pecos Bill on the Adventureland/Frontierland border. Fewer crowds there.

We love eating at the new restaurant in Italy in EPCOT, Tutto Italia I think? It's sooo worth it to make a reservation for the patio, and wait for it if you have to! It's really nice and special. A must-do is always California Grill on top of the Contemporary Resort. It's a gourmet Signature restaurant and is out of this world! You can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from there and there's nothing like it. Good luck!!!

Re: Disney Honeymoon

Oh my gosh, I'm a Disney nut! I love it. We were just there this summer.... let me remember all the great things we did.

For breakfast you have to do the character buffet at Chef Mickey's (at the Contemporary... ride the monorail through the hotel!) and the Princess character breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle at the Magic Kingdom. You'd think they're for kids but you will have sooooo much fun! And its great for picture taking since the characters come around. The princesses will make a big deal out of you since you're a bride.

If your fh is a big football guy then you should go to Shula's in the Swan (I think or it could be the Dolphin). It's a really great steakhouse and they have this monster steak thats like 60 oz or something and if you eat it all you're in their steak club. However, it is not free if you eat it all and it is comparable to a nice steakhouse here... think Peter Luger prices.

You should also definitely drink around the world in Epcot. Get an early dinner in one of the countries - we did the buffet in Germany and it was awesome - and then stop in all the countries for snacks and drinks. I highly recommend the Grand Marnier slush in France and the multi colored frozen margarita in Mexico. I've heard the best place to watch the fireworks in Epcot is in Mexico - we watched it in France under some trees and it was beautiful.

There's some kind of dinner package at Hollywood Studios where you get reserved seating for Fantasmic... definitely do that - you'd be shocked at how crowded it is!

We also did the Spirit of Aloha luau at the Polynesian and it was great - kind of kitchy but you'd expect that from Disney.

Overall, research the hell out of it and do things that may seem inconvient but are fun - wait to take the boats instead of the monorail or bus. Take a bus from your resort to a main hub and then just hop on another bus to see the different resorts. They're all so cool looking.

Have a great time and ask questions if you need to.

Oh my I love everything Disney World!!! I go every year.

The list of favorites is soooo long I couldn't even begin to type them all.

I think at night the Illumintions: Reflections of Earth in Epcot is the best fireworks show.

Magic Kingdom fireworks are great also.

It has been many years since I did Fantasmic but I enjoyed it!!!
