Disney Honeymoon Question
I have never stayed in one of the Disney Resorts before, and was just wondering if anyone had any idea on which resort would be best. I know that The Grand Floridian has a honeymoon suite, but that's around 700-800 per night, and i think that is a little crazy lol. TIA!

Re: Disney Honeymoon Question
Your best bet would be the value resorts like Pop Century. I know it doesn't scream honeymoon but if you tell them its your honeymoon, they may be able to give you something special.

Disney Honeymoon Question - Long Island Weddings
Disney has 3 levels of resort, value, moderate and deluxe- what about staying in a moderate level- Coronado springs or port orleans- both have Disney transportation and beautiful atmosphere

Disney Honeymoon Question - Long Island Weddings
We got engaged at Disney World and had booked a moderate resort (Caribbean Beach) but when we got there they were over booked and they upgraded us to the Beach Club and it was AMAZING. Being walking distance to Epcot during the food and wine festival was the best thing ever. We stayed in October and the person at the front desk explained to us that upgrades tend to happen a lot around then because there are a lot of conferences in town. If you're going right after the wedding you should be there around when the food and wine festival is going on so being within walking distance to Epcot would be in your best interest, we drank all day and then just strolled back to the room as opposed to waiting for a bus.

Re: Disney Honeymoon Question
We are VERY seriously considering a Disneymoon! If we do, we will be staying at the Coronado Springs Resort. I have never stayed there before, in fact I have never stayed at a higher level than the value level, so that makes it special and 'honeymoon-esque' for us.The Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary, Yacht & Beach club, and Animal Kingdom Lodge are all DREAM honeymoon spots, so if you can swing it, go for it! We just cant really rationalize spending the steep increase when there's not THAT much added (you're not going to get a jetted tub, butler service, massages, etc. so whats the point of upgrading??)
So Coronado it is.. we considered Caribbean Beach Resort, but, and I know this sounds silly, their bedding is Finding Nemo themed...I just can't see consummating my marriage in Finding Nemo Sheets
! I thought the other moderate level resorts were much more adult. Also, I think Saratoga Springs resort is supposed to be great, but FH grew up in the real Saratoga, so he said absolutely not lol.
To me, the upside to a Disney resort is location, quality of the employees around you, the perks (free buses, free shuttle from airport, food court in every hotel, extra magic hours, etc.), and you will find this no matter what hotel you pick. On the flip side, the down side to Disney- strollers, children, heat, lines-- you will also find at every hotel. So pick the one that fits your budget, seems grown up, or at least the vibe your are looking to have in a honeymoon, a few nice pools, and you are set!!
If you have anymore questions, I consider myself a Disney World vacation planning expert, and I am planning this honeymoon too! Send me an FM anytime!
Sorry for the novel :)

Disney Honeymoon Question - Long Island Weddings
Just as a follow up, after the girls mentioned Swan and Dolphin, I researched for just about the rest of my night lol. They both look amazing. I got really excited thinking it would be the perfect medium between romantic, adult honeymoon and still being at the happiest place on earth. The location is to die for. But be careful, because since it is not truly a Disney resort, you do not get the free shuttle to and from the airport and dining plan cannot be included. This is more than likely a deal breaker for us as we find those to be huge cost cutters. And FH and I are both school staff..I got so excited too!

Disney Honeymoon Question - Long Island Weddings
So I’m a huge Disney traveler. We own a timeshare so FH and I go several times a year….we are actually going there tomorrow for a couple of days! You can actually rent points from Disney timeshare owners to save a ton of money on deluxe accommodations. There are several websites that will help you with this. I suggest either David’s Vacation Club Rentals or the DVC Rental Store. Just to give you an idea of the savings you can get I calculated how much it would be for you to stay at a deluxe hotel. If you wanted to stay at the Grand Floridian it would cost you around $230 for a studio. I personally love either the Beach Club that would be $210 a night or the Boardwalk that would be $140 a night. Studios are very similar to a regular hotel room but you get a kitchenette. The only thing with these accommodations is that you don’t get daily house keeping. Please let me know if you have any questions I have too much Disney knowledge in my head that I love to share! If you are interested I would contact either website right away because studios go fast!

Disney Honeymoon Question - Long Island Weddings
DH and I got engaged in Disney and we are also doing a Disney honeymoon. We're going in February for 10 days. Usually the value resorts like the all-star music, movies, and sports are the most reasonably priced, and the pop century is only a little bit more per night. However, the Art of Animation hotel isn't too bad with their prices. DH surprised me on our wedding day with a video from Ariel in Ariel's Grotto (he knows someone who works at Disney and arranged for the video lol that is why I love him always full of surprises) and she had a message for me that DH arranged for us to stay in the Little Mermaid section of the Art of Animation hotel the first night we're there (he's just as much of a Disney freak as me lol)and the rest of our trip we will be staying at Pop Century. Hope this info helps!

Disney Honeymoon Question - Long Island Weddings
i'm a huge disney fan lol and i think staying on the boardwalk is the best... that or staying over by treasure island is nice too because then you are close to the disney nightlife.I've also wanted to stay at animal kingdom because apparently the rooms open up to the safari and you can have a giraffe just hanging out by your balcony lol

Disney Honeymoon Question - Long Island Weddings
I stayed at Pop Century and it was fine. It was not very expensive, and they have their own bus line so we did not have to wait long for a bus to any of the parks. We did not spend much time in the room, we were only there for four days. The only thing I did not like was it was two double beds. Too small!
