Hey ladies, thanks to all of your lovely help with finding a travel agent, I think we'll be booking our honeymoon tomorrow.
We are hoping to add a few days in Disney to the end of our vacation, what resorts/hotels do you suggest staying at? We don't want to spend TOO much more, we're thinking 3 nights 4 days bringing our total honeymoon to 10 nights.
I'd like to keep it under $1000 total for both of us, including park passes.
I'll be talking to the travel agent on Tuesday, but figured I'd see what you ladies had to offer suggestion wise.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Disney Honeymoon Questions
If you want to keep it under $1000, Id say go for their moderate priced resorts. Because for lets say 3 days in the parks, a 3 day park hopper pass is about $200+ per person. They have nice moderate priced resorts like Port Orleans or Caribbean Beach.

Thanks so much! We're most likely getting a spiffy honeymoon suite at a Sandals for a week, so we definitely don't need to stay at one of the fancy resorts in Florida.
any other suggestions for moderately priced places?

Re: Disney Honeymoon Questions
hey!! go to disney! go to disney! I LOVE IT there!! I go at least 2x a year!
for mod priced hotels look at he contemporary resort. It's the lowest piced on site resort and actually the closest to the magic kingdom gates.. it's actually walking distance which is cool because u never have to wait for a bus.
you may also take a look at the buena vista palace. It has wonderful rooms, is on the property and is directly across from downtown disney. (again walking distance from the clubs, restaurants, and nightlife of disney) I stayed at buena vista palace in July for a business conference and I have to say it's a very nice hotel.. Not all themed out like the disney resorts but nice and classy nonetheless.
now the reality... Disney is EXPENSIVE!! get startd looking NOW for tickets if u are serious bout keeping the package under 1k. basic 3 day tickets to disney are $64 a day.. that's basic.. no park hopper, no water parks and more.. if you add park hopper which allows u to visit more than one park a day, and water parks and more which allows you to get into the water park (typhoon lagoon is the BEST) and the clubs you're looking at somewhere round $575 (total, not per person)
I also suggest getting the disney dining plan.. or at least consider it. food inside the parks are SOO expensive!

Re: Disney Honeymoon Questions
if you are looking for a moderate resort thats great for honeymoons....try CORONADO SPRINGS! its soooo nice & very romantic! FH & I just stayed there in june! the resort is centered arounda big lake that is sooo beautoiful at night! there us a cool, relaxing bar right on the water of the lake with candle-lit booths & tables. its such a nice resort! and not too $$$ either!!!
if you wanted to go even cheaper you could try a 'value' resort....those r aimed more at kids but they r cheaper so you might want to look into them...i've stayed in all of them many times!
the deluxe hotels will probably be too $$$....they always are!! deluxe are the nicest, but also the most expensive. they r the ones that r right outside the parks..like grand floridian. contemporary, polynesian, yacht & beach club, etc.
hope im not confusing you with all this disney info! haha! here are some websites that might help you:
www.disneyworld.com www.wdwig.com
good luck & happy planning!!!

Re: Disney Honeymoon Questions
I really really recommend the Port Orleans resort…we always stay in what used to be called Dixie Landings and to be honest, I’ve totally forgot what it’s called now, but it’s part of the Port Orleans resort. The Contemporary is pretty cool, but I’ve heard from a lot of people that have stayed there that the walls are paper thin which in Disney isnt normally always a problem, but the big thing about the Contemporary is that the monorail runs right through it, so it’s not very relaxing.
I really like the Port Orleans resort because it’s considered a Downtown Disney resort, which means they have this great boat that goes right into the heart of Downtown Disney, which is a great little marketplace to walk around in. Plus, Pleasure Island is right next door.

I agree, Port Orleans is the most romantic resort on property. It is about $150-200 per night. Not sure if that is in your price range. They are running package specials after 8/25 that get you a free dining plan if you stay on Disney property. Ask your travel agent for pricing and ask for a AAA discount if you have AAA, that is one of the only discounts Disney offeres outside of their own. Port Orleans has two resorts, Riverside (formerly Dixie Landings) and French Quarter. Also, take a look at the Downtown Disney Hotels, they are comparable in price to the moderate resorts and still on Disney property.
The Contemporary resort is very nice, but it is not a moderate resort and it is one of the most expensive on property.
If you plan on doing things on your own, here are a few sites that can help you plan a great Disney vacation!

Re: Disney Honeymoon Questions
that free dining plan has already expired. you had to book by june 24th i believe.
contemporary is not a moderate priced hotel nor is it the cheapest on site resort. the wilderness lodge is the cheapest on site deluxe resort. its i think 218 or something around that price range. animal kingdom lodge is also the same price. contemporary is around 250 i believe.
i work at disney and can help you out a great deal if you want some advice or anything like that. plus im just a disney expert i go way too much haha.
port orleans french quarter is extremely romantic and beautiful. great price, horse drawn carriage rides. a boat ride away from downtown disney. i've been there like 3 times already haha. coronado springs is a beautiful resort as well. the food court is more expensive than the other ones but its nice. the only thing i hate about this resort are the rooms. they have nothing to it! its a dissapointment when looking at the resort as a whole and then seeing the rooms. carribean beach is gorgeous too. i stayed there for a day and absolutely loved it!! beautiful rooms, very bright with colors, beautifully themed.
i've stayed at all star music, all star movies, pop century, port orleans french quarter, port orleans riverside, coronado springs, carribean beach & animal kingdom lodge. in a week i'm staying at saratoga springs which is one of the vacation club resorts which you can stay at too (you dont have to be a vacation club owner) and i'm staying at wilderness lodge for m y honeymoon. oh i also used to work at the boardwalk so i've seen all of the rooms and suites there. my goal is to stay at every resort. i'm almost there haha. so yes, anyone that has any questions or want some advice, suggestions, message me

Where ever you stay I would definately rec. getting the meal plan. We just got back from Disney on the 6th..and ate like royalty at Disney. I really think you end up saving a lot of money on sit down dinners.

for the 7-8x ive been there, ive always stayed offsite but next week we're staying at a Disney resort and let me tell you its sooooo worth it. You get soo many perks and extras just for staying on site like package deals, extra park hours (you can go to the park 1 hr before it opens or 3 hrs after it closes), free shuttle from the airports, transportation between the parks, and you can get all souvenirs you buy delivered to your room from the park. I dont think I'll ever stay offsite again.

Re: Disney Honeymoon Questions
Marriot has a vacation village about 3miles from the entrance to Downtown Disney in Lake Buena Vista. The hotels there are fairly new. click here
AAA was still running the dining plan special when I checked last week.
