Disney vacation REVIEW

this is some of the letter I started to write to send to DIsney because of how horable our stay was:

My family and I recently had a vacation at the Walt Disney world Resort. I must say my husband and I were extremely disappointed with the Disney Resorts. We stayed at BOTH All Star Movies and All Start Sports. The parks were fantastic. The Disney dinning plan was great. The resorts on the other hand were frustrating and a complete inconvince to our trip.

As we were on the bus to get to our resort we are looking out the window watching family’s get off and are greeted by the cast members with balloons and stickers. So my daughter can’t wait to get off the buss to get her balloons and stickers. As we approach our resort there is not one person out side to greet us, let along any one with balloons. We proceed inside where we waited on line to be check in. The woman that checks us in was unfriendly and rude; we do however have our room available for us. We then proceed to eat lunch at the resort; we have the Disney dinning plan, so we are assuming we will have no problems. We get our hot food go to pay and our cards do not work. We are told to go to the front desk with our food. My husband and I look at each other in confusion. He goes to the front desk 20 min he returns, to a cold meal, aggravation and complete dissatisfaction.

As we walk around the All Stare Movie resort we notice that the pool was CLOSED. We were not informed of the closing of the pool when we booked our vacation back in July, nor prior to departing for our vacation. With this we complained to the front desk and are moved to All Stare Sports. Not a complementary atmosphere for a seven year old girl, but we take it. We did pay extra for a preferred room to be close to an open pool and the main building. But we compromised and had our resort changed. The one day that we wanted to use the pool at the All Star Sports it was closed till 12 that afternoon.

That is unacceptable for ANY hotel/resort. I would start writing letters...

I'm sorry your stay wasn't so good...

Re: Disney vacation REVIEW

so many little stupid things happen that we feel is it us??
1)
my daughter got a autograph book and lost it, we were sent on a wilde goose chase just to find the correct lost and found I was soooooo upset I started to cry and the poor Disney girl was going to cry
2) we got her a fan that sprays water at one of the Parks (20.00) at another park it broke so we wanted to exchange it WE NEEDED the receipt (that we did not have) WHY would you need a receipt when where else are you going to by uy it...and they new it was a Disney product??????
3) we get back to the hotel at 10pm after dinner the remote doesnt work I go to the front desk 'No one has ever come to me with this probelm before' That is what she tells me. she will see what she can do/..........

And for the BEST...
The morning that we are scheduled to leave
beside the fact that the pool is closed till 12
a man is in front of OUR ROOM 8am sharpening a machete knife with a grinder
My husband took a pic of the man to send with the letter.

i dont think disney will refund you.. if anything they'll give you like a nights stay for free or something.. and as far as you never staying at a disney resort again, dont ever stay at the all stars.. its cheap and grimmy. pop century is newer and we have never had a problem there. you rarely get problems when you pay for a better hotel. its strange.

see thats awful.... what if people can't afford more than the all star resorts - should they expect bad service? Disney prides themself with wonderful customer service and the fact that someone can't afford to pay $500 a night means they should be treated like crap? I can see they won't get all the same ammenities they would at the more expensive places but, that kids shouldn't get balloons or the pool should be closed? thats not right.

Re: Disney vacation REVIEW

thats horrible!!! you should definitely let them know what went on with the man at the hotel...
as far as the autograph book, i think that was just an unforunate thing..

i would try again at a different disney hotel- we went every other year when i was growing up. we always stayed on disney at fort wilderness campground, and had a great experience- i've also heard people have great experiences at their other hotels (wilderness lodge, contemporary). i think like somebody said, unfortunately its one of the downfalls at staying at one of their 'value' hotels...
i would definitely try again- disney is GREAT and a lot of my best childhood memories are from there...

you're too much

on a serious note: they need to do SOMETHING. that is not right.

now, i'm starting to worry. we just started planning a trip there for spring break.

Re: Disney vacation REVIEW

Thanks for posting this because FH and I are trying to plan a trip to Disney this spring and this was a HUGE heads up on where we should look to stay!
Sorry you had such a horrible experience.... I hope it doesn't discourage you from going again.

Re: Disney vacation REVIEW

I agree with XFINALLYX , POP Century is a GREAT budget motel. Libby and Kim, I wouldn't sweat it - check out POP, it's closer to the parks than the All Stars and there's even a man-made lake! If you stay in the 50s section, you get a decent view of the lake and Epcot laser show!!!
