Is it too hot to even enjoy it? Have you ever been there during those months?

I haven't been to Disney in summer but have been to Florida in summer and it is psychotically hot!! Keep in mind that you will be standing on line for a looooong time with all the kids on summer vacation!!

If you go late enough in August the Florida kids as well as most kids in the south are back in school so it is pretty empty and even better you can get offpeak rates at hotels.

I have gone during those months, and it is very hot, but the thing is there are less people there then in May and June.
If you can deal with the heat, they go for it. I am not the best with the heat, and I would still go again during that time.

I always go in late August and it is great! Low hotel rates and all of the FL kids are back in school.

Just got back from Disney. THe weather was perfect!
I have been to Florida in August and if you do not live there and are not used to the hot summer it is unbearable. It was for me. I felt like when you walked inside somewhere you were walking into a freezer and then when you walked outside it literally felt like you were stepping into an oven.

I totally agree... Florida in August is horrible..it is so humid and just plein hot!!

i was there in july and it's pretty nasty. there were also a ton of teenage tourist groups from brazil who were annoyingly loud everywhere they went. but if this is the only time you can go, go for it. just bring a spray bottle and keep yourself wet.

Late august is tricky...alot of northern parents take their kids on vacation before school starts back up. But in the grand scheme of disney it is not as busy as it could be.
I would like to reiterate....def. hot as hell.

We plan on going this year for 4th of July...should be pretty hot and sticky at that time! But...it's the only time we can go.

I go every year -- the week before labor day. Yes it is hot.. let me say that again... IT IS D$ HOT!!
But -- I would trade the heat and humidity for the smaller crowds at the parks any day. And you can get good hotel/car rates. Most people are gone back home to get ready for school. Altho - the last few years - we were surrounded by Brits...

The weather is pretty much the same either month, but like someone mentioned, the southern states start school in mid August, so its less crowed after that point. Can I come? I'm having Disney withdrawl!!!

I went in August and vowed I would NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER do that again!! I was sweating and miserable, and I dont know what these girls are talking about because the lines were like 3 hours long and it was sooooooo crowded!! FH and I went a few weeks ago, and it was PERFECT!! JMO

We went last July. It was pretty hot. I would say mid 90's during the day, and amazingly enough it didnt rain that much.
Thank god we had a hottub and a pool at the house we stayed at.

We were there the last week of August and although it was hot, the lines and the crowd wasn't that bad at all. We'd definitely go back again at that time of the year.
I've also been there in February & March, and that always seems like a good time to go as well.

We went in really late August... the week before Labor day I think, and even thout it was hot it was so awesome, b/c there WERE NO LINES FOR RIDES!!!!
The only thing I recommend is bringing bottles of water & freezing them in your hotel freezer to carry around with you. Also breathable clothes are a good idea too. (I had a great pair of Techno Chinos from Old Navy that were great for the trip) A lot of the rides in Disney have those cool A/C outdoor fans, so you have some relief....
Really, we did all of the disney parks, plus both Universal parks and Sea World in 5 days..... and we went on every ride & saw every show. It was really great without the crowds.

I was there in August about 10 years ago and YES it was hot!!!!!!! It was also crowded! I still had a great time though

If you could wait the best time to go is the first week of December, they are cheap rates, since everyone was just there on Thanksgiving, and the weather is absolutely beautiful. And the best part, they have all of the Christams decorations up. The parks close earlier though, but it was still great. Noone was there, except on the weekend it was a bit busier.
