Disney World in July or August???

Is it too hot to even enjoy it?
Have you ever been there during those months?

I went to Orlando in July 1999 and it was horrible. One of my friends passed out while waiting on line for the very first ride of the day! We all got free passes to return the next day, and I stayed home in the air conditioning because I couldn't handle the heat.

I don't think i could tolerate Florida heat & humidity in July/August, but it depends on how you are with that sort of thing.

For years my girfriends and I would go to Disney the week RIGHT AFTER Labor Day weekend .. it was GREAT. Don't get me wrong, it was still hot, but the parks were dead, since all the kids were back in school. I've been to Disney/Universal in October (also dead and cooler) March and May (waay too crowded) but September was always my fave month.

I have been in both July and August and it was great!!! I am the kind of person who does not do well in the heat, but I never had a problem there.

One thing we did....we always got early entry to the parks. We would go early and then go back to our hotel around noon to eat lunch and go in the pool. Then we would go back to the parks later. This worked great, b/c we got pleny of time at the parks AND noon (when we left) was the most crowded and hot part of the day.

I can only go at certains times because I am a teacher...
So I was just trying to find a way to use our annual passes again this year. But now I am scared to go in the summer!

If you have the annual passes, I would go back in august, it will rain for a few minutes everyday, and you will feel refreshed. And jsut wear very light clothes, I am the biggest wuss, and I was fine, as long as I stayed hydrated!!

If you do go in the summer, go early before it gets too hot and too crowded, then leave during the peak hours mid-day. Hang out at the hotel or go shopping or something. Go back to the parks in the evening. The parks are open late. If you're out during the day, just hop from one air conditioned place to the next.

I'm trying to figure out how to use my AP again before June, but I dont think its going to happen.

I have been to Disney several times in July and August. NEVER AGAIN!! It is hotter than HELL and totally crowded. I swear it is like HELL on Earth. Kids running everywhere and crazy lines and intense heat. Sorry, but after you have gone in off season and experienced it nice weather and no overcrowding, you will never go back in the Summer months. You won't catch me at any of those theme parks while school is out and the weather is at it's hottest.

Lines that go one forever

Ice cream melts too fast

Please avoid those months if you can

OMG I think you will MELT Both are very HOT. Went once in Aug and never again....I hate HOT/HUMID weather.... Don't get me wrong, I love the hot sun on a beach..... but being in those parks, I thought I was going to pass out. Just my thoughts and advice- Drink a lot of WATER!!!

now imagine having to dance in one of the parades in that heat for a mile long parade route!!! Its bad, but if its the only time you could go, i still suggest the end of august.

I don't think it's the heat you have to worry about. We ar part of Disney Vacation Club we go every year the last weak of August and over Labor dAY. It is a ghost town everybody clears out because school starts. Best time to go. No lines and no heat around 75-80.

I just plannsed only my 3rd disney trip ever! and it's in June. I've only been thre in january, so it was cool and empty for the most part. i hope it won't be too bad. We got engaged there in January
