Disneyworld resorts....please give review

We are going to Disneyworld for our HM, we are not sure if we want to stay at the Grand Flordian, the Polynesian, or Wilderness lodge. There are big price differances between each, but we also wanted some input from people who have stayed at the resorts before we pick one. Has anyone stayed in any of these, and if so...good bad experiences?

I have stayed at the Polynesian but that was years ago when I was little. It was a nice place.

I stayed at the Wilderness about 5 or 6 years ago and it was nice. The pool was nice and they had some good restaurants.

But I would say if you have the money, then stay at the Grand Floridian. It's is gorgeous.

We are staying at the Grand Floridian! I can give you a review when we get back. I've been in the Grand Floridian and it is A BEAUTIFUL hotel. The Polynesian is nice too, but a little more older. The Wilderness Lodge is also gorgeous - very secluded, it doesn't even feel like you're in Disney World - like you actually ARE in a lodge. I've been to Disney like 20 times - so if you need any advice, just FM me!

I've stayed at the Grand Floridian and it is gorgeous! Ask to stay in the concierge building.

The Polynesian is great, the Floridian is amazing. If you can afford the Floridian go with it, if not the Polynesian is nuce. I have even stayed at one of the value resorts and I thought it was also nice, a bit small, but you are barely in the room.

i just got back from wdw on friday, i loved the polynesian!!!! if we went back we said we would definitly stay there (we stayed at the caribean beach resort) we were not on a honeymoon or anything just a vacation, i posted along review on travel on lif if that helps :)

have fun!

ps u must eat at the california grill..very romatnic and delicious

I went back to disney with FH last year and I would like to make a suggestion - stay off the disney property. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt (which is only 2-3 exits away) but it really was nice not having kids running around all the time - it was more quiet and romantic - PLUS still easy to get around (nothing was too far of a drive). We found ourselves following the concierges advice and venturing out to find places to have dinner and we were so glad that we did! Some of our favorites were:

Emeril's restaurant in City Walk, Universal
Fultons Crab House (downtown disney)
Rainforest Cafe (downtown disney)

Okay...if you are picking btw Floridian and Poly...go with Floridian. If you are just looking for a GREAT hotel on the grounds...I would go with either the Westin Swan or the Sheraton Dolphin hotels. They have their own man made beach...and boat rides to the parks! Just beautiful!! They are also on the grounds without shoving disney down your throat the entire time.
Depending on the time of year you are going you can sometimes get great rates for these hotels on Hotwire.com. FM me if you are interested...and I can search your dates and see if it is available!!

The Grand Floridian is spectacular. We didnt get to stay there (it was a short budget trip) but we did go there for dinner at Noorcooses for FH's birthday last month and our jaws dropped when we walked in. There was an orchestra playing in the lobby and the architecture was beautiful. And dinner was out of this world, we were right on the water and got to see the fireworks show at Magic Kingdom right from our table.

ok listen to me (i work at disney! actually im going to work in like 15 minutes) grand floridian is beautiful on the outside and inside, but the rooms are ugly. at least to me. i think its the most overrated hotel on property! i'd go with the polynesian out of those 3 (thats probably where we'll be staying for a few nights of relaxing after our sandals honeymoon) i do work at the boardwalk hotel so i am a little biased, but our hotel is absolutely gorgeous. the rooms are really nice (i go in them every day, i do room service) if you go with the honeymoon suites, they have a white picket fence and a mailbox so its like you're at home, those rooms are amazing. the high end suites (which i served john stamos in!!!!) are INCREDIBLE! long wood tables, huge huge rooms, everything is just imaculate (sp?) great views of epcot & the boardwalk/water. plus the highest suite you can go on the roof and watch the fireworks at epcot from there. i think you can see fantasmic at mgm too. its walking distance to epcot (like literally, we park at the boardwalk and walk to epcot every time) at night the boardwalk is alot of fun, games, magicians, everything you can think of. the restaurants are sooo good (spoodles and flying fish as well as espn if you wanna watch a game). i see people honeymooning and getting married there all of the time. its just really romantic and sweet.

i do like the wilderness lodge too. all of the places you mentioned are different types of places. if you need any help, FM me any time! like i said, i work there, plus i've been to disney a million times before i moved here and just know ALOT about disney. hope that helps you!!

(oh p.s. you can sit on the beach at the polynesian on the swings, drink and watch the castle and fireworks at night! or you can be fun and go on the boats around bay lake and seven seas lagoon! those are alot of fun. i do it all of the time)

I'v e stayed at both the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian. For romance, I would take the Polynesian any day. You can sit on the beach at night by yourself and watch the fireworks across the lagoon. The Floridian is very nice as well but I would take the Polynesian anyday.

I saw a special on The Travel Channel about the Grand Floridian and immediately picked up the phone to switch my hotel!!!! It looks BEAUTIFUL!!!! And it's apparently THE place to stay on honeymoons! I can't WAIT!!!

I prefer the Polynesian! It depends on your tastes. Grand Floridian is architecturally gorgeous. Opulent Victorian Old-Florida style; on the other hand, the Polynesian is more subtle--lush, quiet, tropical. At night, the Polynesian is so dark, pathways illuminated only by torches. I love the quiet beauty and tropical feel of the Poly, but that's just my taste! Enjoy!! (Can't wait; going back for probably my 30th visit to the Polynesian in February!!)

I personally love Wilderness Lodge. It is quiet and peaceful. It is also a lot of fun!

Not to throw another choice into the mix but..... BOARDWALK is my FAVORITE!!! Stay there- It's amazing-- it's not a Magic Kingdom Resort so it's not usually as Kid Packed as the GF or P- the wilderness lodge is very secluded & the rooms open up to the lobby in the middle of the hotel so it feels less private to me-- At the Boardwalk you can walk to epcot- there is tons of night life- theres a boat ride to MGM or Epcot as well... now I'm getting all emotional.... I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT THERE!!!

definitely the polynesian!! omg!! haha i loved it there!! thats where we were going to stay but its too expensive for us so we're staying at port orleans the french quarter..another one of my favorites :)

ooo FH wanted to stay there too...but it was still too expensive for us :( its so sad to be poor. haha. did you see giraffes at your window??? i think thats the savannah view right? i dont remember i'm horrible!! haha
