disposable cameras
is anyone using these? I've heard they are a waste of money as they are so expensive to get developed and so few good pictures, but im still undecided (im talking about ones on the tables in addition to the photographer, of course!! also, how do you do a search on here to find info on topics that were previously discussed?? thanks

I used them - I don't think I'd use them again.... They aren't so expensive, but they ARE expensive to develop. I spent over $200 to develop the pictures and the majority of them are terrible - guests didn't bother to use the flash so a lot of them are very dark. Also, I have SO many great pictures from the photographer that I don't feel like I need the ones that came out ok (none of them are great from the disposables). The fun thing about them though was getting to see pictures as soon as we got home from the honeymoon - but not really worth the money to me.

We used Kodak disposables for our wedding and I would definately do it again. The flash goes off automatically so you don't need to worry about someone forgetting to use it. We also had ours developed while we were on our honeymoon and we had a blast looking at the pictures when we got home. We asked our DJ to make an announcement to our guests regarding the cameras so that they wouldn't take them home. He also asked everyone to take candid shots so the bride and groom could see everything they missed! Our guests took the advice to heart and we now have some terrific pictures that we wouldn't have had without those cameras. I think they were worth every cent.

I was told to get Kodak cameras...I guess Fji would work too...don't get the noname brand if you are worried. I wasn't originally going ot do this, but someone suggested on another board to have a scavenger picture hunt. To get pictures your photographer will not get...i.e. best dressed, cutest couple. I am also going to attach to the camera instructions and big bold type, please use the flash!! happy planning

I got great pictures
I recommend them. I ordered mine through a website www.bestcameras.com The price included the developing. I think 15 cameras came out to $160 for cameras personalized with our names & date. We got really great pictures. So many shots of our guests that didn`t end up in the professional pics or the video. There were a few things like our first dance or the cake cutting that a lot of people took pics of, but most of them were of our guests having fun or of my and/or my hubby with guests. There was one camera that was unused and one that we didn`t get back but the rest were handled terrifically by our guests. Best wishes!

I had them at my wedding in October and I wish I could tell you that the pictures came out great, but WE STILL DIDN'T DEVELOP THEM!!!! Totally not like me, but I think I cliced off anything 'wedding-related' after the honeymoon!!! All the wedding stress gets to you after awhile, LOL :)!! Plus, you come home and one thing leads to another and the next thing you know, it's almost 6 months later (I still can't believe it, it feels like yesterday). Anyway, I recommend them because it's fun to see the pictures from other people's perspective and if you didn't happen to get a pic of them from the photographer, at least you have one of them there!! I bought mine at BJ's. They were the Kodak, 5 pack of 15 exposures (you really don't want any more than that because they don't finish the roll then)!! My hubby told me that the first thing we're doing when we get our tax check is to develop them and all the other rolls of film I've been neglecting!! The funny thing is I am the 'picture queen' and usually develop film the day after I finish it. It's funny how your priorities change after you get married, now I'm more worried about what to cook and when I'm going to get the laundry done!!!! LOL :0

bestcameras...
The 5 for 25 deal at BJ's seems good, im wondering though how much to get 15 exposures developed....that bestcamera's website is 10$ per camera, but it's 27 exposure (which I do think is a bit much) but it includes the developing?? I wonder which way works out less?

Kodak 15
We also bought our Kodak's at BJ's and had them developed at CVS. I think it was about $5.00-$6.00 a roll to get them developed (maybe even less). I would be careful about sending film through the mail these days. Because the postal service now uses x-raying type equipment it can damage both exposed and unexposed film and ruin your pictures. Also 27 shots does seem like a lot. Chances are you will have several unfinished rolls of film.

Kodak 15
I bought the Kodak 15s, but be careful...I found out in October that Kodak is no longer making the wedding 15 camera and sent out their last shipment (there were tons at bjs in Oct) I was going to go to CVS as well and get single prints...Welcome New Vendors
