Yesterday we had our holiday party, and during the formal toast, the president announced the names of the people that got engaged this year, and did not include me!
It's really frustrating because I got engaged first, and have been working at the company two years longer than the other girls. And we all work in the same department.
I know I'm overreacting, but I just feel really annoyed and to be honest, a little hurt. I guess that's what happens when you work with 200+ people.

i would definitly be upset too. if the president was going to mention specific people, he/she should have come prepared with everybodys name

aww i can understand why you'd be upset but i wouldnt worry about it too much...it was probably just an innocent mistake that he forgot to mention you.

Awww I'm sorry! I would definitely be annoyed by that too - but I'm sure it was unintentional with so many people in your company. He definitely should have gotten his list straight though before making that announcement.

Sorry that happened to you! Men are such idiots sometimes (especially presidents of companies - my partners are SUCH weirdos)!!

That is annoying! Not sure if you want to have someone suggest this but he should send a follow-up e-mail to the company congratulating everyone again and add your name this time!
Its not overreacting, you are proud and want others to know!
