Why do girls 'dive' into their dress instead of step into it? When I was trying on dresses and for my fitting, they had me dive in. It always messed up my hair. Why don't we step into the dress; wouldn't it be easier? What will you do?

Re: Diving into Dress?
I don't know about anyone else, but for me...there's no effing way the top part of the dress is going to go past my big azz and hips...I'm a lot smaller on top than on the mid/bottom...so diving would be the only way.

Re: Diving into Dress?
The owner of the bridal shop where I got my dress taught me how to put my dress on, and she said you should always step into it. You also avoid the risk of getting makeup smeared on your dress by doing it that way.
When the bridal attendant on my wedding day helped me get dressed, they did it the exact same way they did at the bridal shop.

When I go for fittings it gets put on over my head, but she zips a net bag over my face in case I have makeup on it won't get on the dress.

you usually 'dive' into the dress because you already have a slip on. which would be difficult for you to step in the dress and have your full slip on at the same time. there is a way to step into your dress and slip at the same time so you dont have to go dress diving.

Re: Diving into Dress?
my seamstress at kleinfelds told me i HAVE to step into it. (which kind of surprised me because every bride i've seen always 'dives' into it.) she said to get used to it because the day of the wedding my hair and makeup will be all done and putting the dress over my head could mess everything up. she's going to sew the slip into my dress so i shouldn't have any problems with stepping into it.

A ha-that makes sense. Though, my dress has the slip built into it. I may be able to step in afterall.

Re: Diving into Dress?
I was told to step into my dress, and then step into the slip after that and have someone bring up the slip.
Then someone has to 'fluff' the slip and dress.
HAHAHAHA I'm going to have a 'fluffer'. Anyone familiar with porn terminology will get that one!!
